X-Sense Mini Smoke Alarm, 10-Year Battery Fire Alarm Smoke Detector with LED Indicator & Silence Button, XS01, 6-Pack

I purchased a six pack of the XS01-WR interconnected smoke detectors in May of 2021. Installation was easy and they all work beautifully together as they should. They also look very stylish due to their small size and smart design. All was well until just the other night, early July 2024, when everyone was awaken with all six detectors sounding their alarms. Thankfully there was no fire and I quickly turned them off with the RC01 Remote Control I purchased separately. We went back to bed and 30 minutes later we were awaken again with the sound of the smoke detectors. Luckily with the use of the remote when you silence the alarms they all go silent except the unit that first detected the problem. One has to press the remote a second time to silence that last alarm. The alarms are designed that way to help one pinpoint the exact source of the problem. Come to find out the unit that first detected the potential problem became defective because the alarm kept sounding.The next day I emailed [email protected] with a warranty claim. Warranty was 5 years but because I registered the product I got an additional 2 years for a total of 7 years. Considering smoke detectors should be replaced after 10 years of use that's a mighty good warranty. I included a small video showing them the problem with the unit as well as my order number which was easy to obtain from the invoice located in my past Amazon purchases. I received a response that same day indicating they would replace it and there would be no need to return the defective unit. I received another email couple hours later saying the replacement was shipped and I would receive it the next day. Well I did receive it the next day and now all six unit are working again as they should. You read so much about how some companies are not only difficult to contact with a warranty problem but are also non-responsive. In my case I can confidently say that is not the case with X-Sense. I like their product and I really appreciate how they back up their product with quick action. Thank you X-Sense!

Small profile. Works great

Easy to installVery small compared to a traditional ones, close to palm sizedInterconnected so when one goes off they quickly all start going off. We have one in each bedroom, hallway, living room and basement. After a few seconds they will all be going off.Nice and loud will definitely wake you up if you've got one in your room or right outside. And since they all go off you can hear them throughout the house.Battery operated so no wiring required.Wouldn't recommend for installation in the kitchen or garage. We have one just outside our interior garage door and around the corner from our kitchen. Regular cooking or automotive smoke can set them off and then the whole house is beeping loudly. Only way to shut them all off in a non emergency is to remove the battery of the one that went off first. Which can take a while when its on the ceiling. Waking to the smell of bacon is awesome, waking to the sound of the whole house beeping because you like your bacon extra crispy is not awesome according to my family. So make sure you follow the distance recommended in the installation guide to place it far enough away from the stove and the garage so that it still goes off in an emergency but not when doing day to day activities.

They tested fine, hopefully they also work when a fire breaks out. IF that is. Hopefully not tho, but if it ever happens I will get right back on here and let you know.

small. Better looking than the larger old ones. Easy install. Only a fire or time will tell how good this really is. I hope it does its job.

(Skip to the bottom for a short summary)- very small and compact• the design does not bring attention to it and takes up minimal space they look "cute" as the girlfriend would put it.- lightweight, easy to install• when installing into drywall its recommended to use the anchors but I didn't find it necessary because of how light they are. Just 2 easy screws!- functionality• Very loud! Which is awsome, louder than my old system for sure.- affordable• for the price you can't beat all of the positives come together for a beautifully designed productThe negatives (oh boy)1. It seems to me that they make these and let them sit on untill they are sold, and may not test them before they send them out to the consumer (you). While the ones that work work great i ordered the 6 pack. 3 of them seem awsome and I have not had to use them, knock on wood (metaphorically), the other 3 not so much. 2 sound like they are already on the cusp of dying and you have to click the button repeatedly for the test function to work which makes me nervous if they will work in a real situation. And last but not least the final smoke detector is functional but the speaker sounds blown. Not ideal for something that is designed to wake you up in your sleep.2. Customer service. I contacted the company directly via email to let them know of these issues giving them my name and order number so they would have no issues looking up that i was a verified buyer. Anyways I contacted them on Thursday I have yet to hear a response (2 buisness days) its now Sunday with no response 4 days total. That being said if I do hear back from them and they offer a solution I will update my rating untill then it seems ive got the buy 6 get 3 working deal. And I'm not comfortable with that!3.
