Best but could be better.
I use headlamps a lot, and with most I hate that they basically have a flashlight like beam, they need a wide angle that covers the full area of your vision, this comes very close to doing that and I've not seen anything on the market that's better. The light output is great, I rarely have it turned all the way up, in fact I wish it would dim a bit more. The light is biased rather high, while the light is wide side to side, there's a limited angle in the vertical. I suppose it's dependent on the angle you wear it at and your forehead but cause it's at that fixed angle the brightest part of the vertical is too high. I even have a rather vertical forehead and I find I wish it shined down more. For example standing in front of a counter I have to move my head down at an odd angle to get good light on the counter. The button is ridiculous, way too large and in a bad spot. Sometimes it's like everything hits the dial, when wearing a hoodie turning my head turns the dial, can't really sit in a chair with a high back as the dial hits the chair, etc.I recently started wearing it on a baseball cap turned backwards, that helped. The light bar sticks out a bit more so the light can shine down in front of my face, the brim keeps me from hitting the button, and with the cap I can get the battery/back higher on the back of my head angling it down more. And just now as I'm writing this thinking about it I found I can just pull off the big dial. The big dial is just pushed onto a small nob, a bit harder to turn the little knob, takes a finger and a thumb but much better I think, harder to activate on accident.

Terrible distribution of light. Focuses light way up high; no adjustment.
I felt very dissapointed when I tried out this headlamp. I paid $88 for it, thinking it would be a really nice product. I read the reviews, which were mostly very positive, so I trusted that it wouldn't dissapoint... Boy, was I wrong. Just like one reviewer had mentioned, the brightest light shines well above your central vision area, I would say about 20 degrees above the area where your eyes naturally aim to. And there is zero adjustment for this. Plus the headband is very tight, and I have a relatively small head. I had it opened to the biggest setting, and it was tight enough on my small head to give me a headache if I had worn it for any length of time. Fortunately I never wore it for more than a minute though because the light pattern was so ridiculously off kilter, and that drove me nuts. Plus, I was imaging this light was going to be really bright. It was fairly bright, but not nearly as bright as a lot of other good led headlamps I have owned. Considering the price, and that it has adjustable brightness, I was quite dissapointed in the brightness. But my biggest complaint by far, is that the very feature that was emphasized so much as a selling point- the wide distribution of light, was in fact very, very misleading. Light distributed all around your head? Yeah, pretty much. But evenly? Not at all. There is a narrow band of relatively bright light that shines from about 20 degrees above comfortable eye level, to about 40 degrees above comfortable eye level. In the area where you use your vision the most, the brightness was less than a third of the area above it, so by comparison it looks like a shadow. If these factors don't bother you, then you ought to just buy a $15 led headlamp. I can't justify spending $88 on something this poorly designed. And like someone else said, the dial in the back would become a very aggravating problem, because it would constantly be getting turned and bumped if you were wearing any kind of cold weather apparel or were working under a car or in a tight space of any kind. I also don't like how much you have to turn it to change the light intensity. Seems like a lot of rotating of the dial to go back and forth between high and low intensity. Also, the one I got looked like it had been bought and returned several times because the band above the forehead area looked like it was getting black and greasy, and the epoxy over the LED's was scratched up pretty good, although these scratches would not have been detrimental in any way to the light distribution. In fact, the more scratched up it is, the more evenly the light would be distributed. But I wasn't going to try to scratch it up more and then lose my chance to return it, so back to Amazon it went. I hate doing returns; I have bought hundreds of things online in the last few years, but only have done maybe 5 returns, but 2 of those times was because I was sent the entirely wrong item. So I do very, very few returns, but this headlamp was way too expensive to just sit back and accept a crappy product for that kind of money.

Very high quality and bright headlamp. Great for outdoors activities like hiking, biking, skiing, camping!
I got this headlamp to wear when I go hiking, biking, and skiing because they looked pretty cool on the Olympics. I was really excited when it came. The entire product is high quality from when you open it. This isn't one of those headlamps that feels flimsy when you put it on. You can tell that every detail was thought about from the way you reach behind your head to turn the lamp on, to how you dim/brighten it. It's very intuitive and I didn't even need to read the instructions. The lamp ranges from dim to super bright, which is great. I read that on low power it lasts up to 100 hrs and on the highest setting (which is mind-blowingly bright for a headlamp I want to add) it lasts about 3 hrs. The battery is a premium quality LG battery, which makes me feel safe when I wear it. And it feels very comfortable, yet snug, while I wore it. The idea is great, and I bet this would even be good for people who are camping. I took my first spin with this last night biking and not only could I see really well, but all the cars knew not to hit me because they could clearly see me! Can't wait to bring them on my ski trip.

I wanted to love this....I really did
I used head lights more than the average person, like 3-8 hours every day. I own a dozen or so of the best and brightest but never one without a lamp housing. The idea is great. It is pretty bright, not the brightest I own, but has a good range of projection. If this was a $25 unit, I would have no complaints. But for the price I expected more, in 2 ways.1. Battery life is terrible. Awful. I get maybe 1 hour of use on high. And if I charge it, but not use it for a day or 2, then go to use it, it is either dead or almost dead.2. It’s still heavy. On the tightest setting, the weight of it pulls it down my head and into my field of vision so I’m constantly reaching up to adjust it.Honestly, I will use my $25 headlamps with replaceable batteries in most situations. This will sit around for a while until I give it away or toss it

Very good item
Battery lasts for ages ! I work in construction and use this led on my safety helmet. There's absolutely no problem for it fitting on the helmet or falling off. 2 rubber caps that seal the led strip friction hold it in place very nicely.Unique item and starts a conversation : ''oh mate where you get that, never seen such before'' :DOnly thing i don't like is the control button. It is just unnecessary big and flimsy, seems like the first thing to break if it was to be broken. Could be integrated into the carcass of the battery casing.

Dissapointing battery life
I got very excited at the thought of a rechargeable headtourch with 100hrs battery life. The reality is about 5 hours on full wack... it's ok but I was disappointed. Also, working on a car, lying on the ground would mean the torch would keep turning itself off unless you keep your head above the ground which is straining on the neck. I'm going to keep it as it is nice quality but I had very high expectations
