Super delicious on sweet potato and rice
This stuff is delicious. This is my go to sauce for dressing up dishes and keeping them vegan. It's a little spicy but perfectly so, in my opinion. It's also a little sweet and very flavorful. I like to smear it around the bottom of a bowl before I add hot rice. That gives it time to soak into the bottom layer of rice while I'm eating whatever is on top. I also recommend sprinkling some toasted sesame seed in with it as well.

Wonderful condiment
This condiment is a major hit with my family. They can’t get enough of it, and they dip everything in it.

Good w/rice and…
Good with rice or use as a sauce for dumplings. Add a little spice and garlic to your dishes.

Condiment leaking all throughout packaging.
I love this product, however this time when the package got here the oil was leaking all over the bag. Someone help me out, either send me another one or give me a refund or something.

Yummy on rice an pasta.
Purists will cringe when I use Okazu on pasta, but it is really good 😉🤙. Make sure you don’t inhale while swallowing. I got a little into my trachea (yup that’s how far it got) and it was extremely painful. Coughing didn’t help, time and goblet cell secretion finally eased the pain.

The Good Stuff
During lockdown, my friend asked if I had any chili miso bc she was out & couldn’t find it anywhere. Idk if she tried Amazon 🤔. I had a full jar that I’d never tried bc I didn’t know how to use it in cooking. I shared mine with her and she showed me how to use it. In so many ways. I’m hooked!

I finally got to try this!
I had a package that was going to be sent via a shipping forwarding service so I decided to add one of these to my order. I just received it in Dubai earlier today and just tried it on chicken and zucchini over brown rice. OMG it was so good I added more then I ever would of the Chinese style chili crisps. The chili crisp style I can't use too much because the mouth-numbing schezwan pepper that is typically in them gets too strong. This Okazu, however, is AMAZING! it's dangerous because nothing can stop me from adding too much except my own willpower. I am already imagining what I will eat this with. I can top it on a dish as simple as rice with a fried egg cooked till it still has a thickened but runny yolk. I can make a Japanese style pasta and put some Okazu on it. I would like to add some to Ochazuke (Japanese green tea over rice) as well. I know I will be ordering this again and again!

EDITED: I wanted to mention that in the list of ingredients is soy sauce. MOST soy sauces on the market contain wheat. THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT. I am gluten intolerant so I have to read the ingredients list very carefully even looking for by -products of wheat such as glucose, maltose, dextrose, and so on. If YOU are gluten intolerant you can happily EAT this wonderful condiment WITHOUT FEAR. Enjoy! Yummy! Tried a bit on a spoon. Warm but not overpowering, soooo flavourful! Great on rice and as a condiment on meats. I even drizzled some on some cottage pie (minced beef, onion and mashed potatoe - wonderful!!! Will buy more for sure because this jar of yummy won't last long. Note for any who has not tried this: you'll have to give it a good stir as the heavier ingredients sink to the bottom of the jar.

I asked a friend to recommend a brand of chili oil for me, expecting her to just show me whatever old brand that you usually get at an Asian supermarket…I was expecting her to recommend something cheap and simple….But she recommended this, instead. Actually, she recommended the mild version. I opted for the spicy version because I wanted something with a bit of a kick to it. This spicy version is good. It definitely has a bit of spice to it, but if you can’t handle a lot of spice, you can just use less of it. I’m not a chili oil expert (which is why I was asking for a recommendation…because I was overwhelmed at the Asian supermarket that I go to)…But this seems to taste just fine to me. At $18, though, it’s quite expensive….But as I don’t expect to finish it off for quite some time, the cost is fine to me…

My husband and I are OBSESSED with this sauce! We have had a steady supply of it in the house since we first discovered a few years ago. It is a perfect level of spice with nice textures with the miso crunchy bits. Excellent addition to dumplings, noodles, etc. Highly recommend!
