For whatever reason my 5 year old has been on a sock puppet kit. I suspect a fellow kindergartener brought one in and she has been hooked on the idea of sock puppets (even tricking me into making a remedial one because "we have to have one for school tomorrow"). As a last minute christmas idea, I found this kit and decided to give it a try. In the past I had been disappointed by the make at home kits (paint your own pottery, make your own necklace), but this kit is a real gem! It comes with 3 socks in awesomely vibrant colors, 6 large yarn poms (to use as hair or whatever else you can think of), googly eyes and LOTS LOTS LOTS of stick on accessories. The socks are super soft, and the stick on accessories (fins, tongues, wings, dimples) are super easy to attach. The resulting puppets, are very cute, super durable and overall a ton of fun to play with. These can easily be assembled by even tiny hands, but the large pom hair should be done by an adult as it requires using a large plastic needle to attach. I highly recommend this kit to even the uncraftiest for its ease of play and overall fun factor. I will be buying another one to tuck away for the next snowstorm or bad weather stretch. I got this for my Nephews, mostly the 4 year old (the 2 year old did more observing). My Nephew was SO happy and couldn't wait to show me the puppet he made! It was all he was talking about for days. This simple kit ended up being so much fun for them. It allowed my Sister to spend quality time with her boys on a rainy day!!!Yes, this kit contains a bunch of stuff that you could go out and buy on your own....but I'm not sure I could have saved any money doing it that way. The kit was a great price and because it was Prime eligible, shipping was free (and super fast).Since I wasn't there when they made the puppets, I can't comment on age appropriateness (i.e. choking hazards, etc.), but it seemed to be perfect for the 4 year old!

My 4 year old and I made these sock puppets and had so much fun creating the characters and laughing as we gave them names and voices and hair and eyes. Such a fun project. Until my twins (3) got home. The 3 year olds were just trying to play with the puppets but the adhesion wasn’t firm enough that their less-gentle handling had the arms, mouths, pompoms and horns off in 5 min. 4 year old was pretty devastated, thinking he would be able to play puppets with his siblings. The foam arms and whatnots are just not stuck on very well.

Neat concept and all but it took us all of 10 minutes to put all 3 sock puppets together and I really don't think they're going to last all that long. Everything except the hair (which is sewn on using the provided needle) just sticks on with little pieces of double sided tape. It's also very difficult (even with finger nails) to get the paper off the back of the stickies.All in all, it was fun for the time it took to make them and they'll be fun to play with while they last, but I wouldn't buy them again.

I was pleased with the value for the money with this kit. My nephew and I made all of the puppets in one sitting -- he is three, so that was predictable. There were so many options and accessories that we actually added a few socks and made extra puppets! The stickers were amazingly adhesive and stuck tightly to the puppets even after repeated use by my nephew. I was extremely impressed by the adhesiveness of the stickers and would absolutely buy this kit or another item from this line of kits again. This kit receives a grade of 100%.

I purchased this for my daughters for Christmas. My daughters and nieces, ranging from age 2 to 8, all had great fun making their puppets. Although the kit only has 3 socks, there are enough decorations to make multiple puppets - just grab your own socks. Even better, most of the decorations are peel and stick, which makes for easy assembly. Inevitably when you combine peel and stick and kids, you're going to end up with pieces being moved around until they lose their stickiness. Thiis kit even came with extra adhesive pieces! My kids had a puppet show as soon as they finished. This was great old fashioned creative fun.

My 5 year old love this sock puppet kit however the decorations are stick on and do not stay on the socks for very long. I would suggest using a glue in order for the puppet to be long lasting fun

Purchased for my crafty daughter... She could do this all on her own. All the felt pieces are stick on along with the eyes. Contains three super soft socks, each a bright solid color and a ton of self stick pieces to make great puppets. The included pom poms come with a large yarn needle (plastic) that is so easy to use to attach the pom poms.Had a blast putting together her puppets.. and lots of fun playing with them after.We did lose one or two of the felt pieces once the really playing began, but the kit has so many pieces we were able to replace them with our left over supply.
