The Kades Apple Watch band added a touch of flair over the original plastic sports band. It matches well with the black watch. The installation was not the smoothest -- required some added pressure to get it to slide on. The construction is solid, I just hope the clasp continues to hold well.Feels very comfortable on my wrist.

I was looking for a more “elegant” look for my Apple Watch, and found this band from KADES. The NYT’s “Wirecutter” section recommended it as the best Metal Band for the $$$. The product arrived well-packaged (Apple level unboxing experience), and came with all the key parts including: Two pins removers, several replacement pins, and plastic covering over the two main parts of the bracelet. Installation was relatively easy, but I had prior experience so your mileage may vary). Very comfortable to wear and easy to put on and take off. A great value for the dollar.

I was very satisfied with this watchband until it broke while I was detaching it from my Apple watch. Of course, the break was not a replaceable pin or segment but at the pin hole in a non-replaceable segment, thus making the band unusable. The band was only 6 weeks old and the metal around the pin hole failed so I emailed the seller to report the problem figuring it should be covered under their warranty. The seller responded with a day, apologized and agreed to replace the band, which they did promptly. The band is comfortable and attractive so I am happy to be wearing it again. However, I cannot be sure if this was a one-off problem so I will be even more cautious whenever I try to detach the band. I deducted one star because of this failure but not more because the band is otherwise satisfactory and the seller was promptly responsive to the issue. I would recommend to others unless there are recurrent reports of a similar failure.

Looks good, however recognize you get what you pay for. One of the locking buttons popped off the second time I took it off the watch (see picture), so if you plan to swap it out often or even periodically, not the best choice. I also agree with comments from others that you can see the aluminum looking links on the backside through gaps from the outside...Update: KADES reached out to me after I posted my comment and offered to replace the band, a very positive gesture on their part. Customer service is always a factor in evaluating a product, and a large part of the reason I went from 1 to 3 stars. I received the replacement band a week ago and have been wearing it for the last few days. My biggest issue in my original review was that one of the locking buttons popped off, see above. Time will tell if this one endures longer. My other comment about the aluminum looking metal showing through in between the black links remains an issue. And I'll also add that after just a few days of wear, I now have several scratches in the black coating.I'll say again how much I appreciate KADES custom service, however there are still issues with the band build that good customer service can't fix. That said, for the price, it's a decent band, but be careful in what you do while wearing it as it will scratch/wear pretty easily...

Removing and attaching links WILL work as the directions indicate. Removing links is easy; attaching the band links after removal may require patience and a little time. Be careful to ensure the attachment is secure before putting your watch on your wrist. You surely don’t want the band to separate because you didn’t ensure the re-linking was secure. I took five links out. The final product looks GREAT! I really like the Kades black steel watch band with my Apple watch 5.PS - when I received my black steel band, I also received a scratch-off prize ticket. It said I would receive a free watch band of my choice IF I would write a review on the steel band. I had planned to anyway so .... Lo and behold, Kades responded to my email about the prize and sent my choice to me!!! No charge. It is the dark brown “leather” band and it looks great on my Apple watch 5.

The band Is not truly three point. Only one side can be opened and closed. What this means is that it becomes hard to get a good fit. Either the fit is good but you cannot put it on because the whole thing is too small for your hand to go through or your hand can go through but the fit is loose. A true three point clasp would have allowed for a good fit and the ability to slide your hand through the open band. Returning it.UPDATE: The seller emailed me about the difficulties I had. I had to travel and hence could not work with them to get a replacement and had already obtained another band. The seller says that the clasp issue was an anomaly and that they have a dual opening clasp. IF anyone can comment on this aspect of the band that would help clarify for the rest of us here. I updated the rating to 4 from 2 - primarily for seller response and willingness to rectify issues. I got a refund within minutes of the email exchange.

So, I have both the silver and black versions of this band and I have to tell you.. judging from the reviews.. they must have read them and addressed the clasp, because I've held off doing this review till I could wear the black one non-stop for over a week and even to bed Every Night! It has yet to pop open by accident. I merely take it off to charge the phone each morning while I shower and dress for work. I LOVE this band!! It's classy with a suit and still causal (in black) enough to go with everything you wear. I found that adjusting the links to get the perfect fit was super easy. I actually added back one link, so I did do the process twice and found it was no big deal. It's as comfortable as the Milanese loop, But,, I find this one really classy and less common than all the other bands out there. I love that it's not bulky and sleek to the wrist. Best looking band out there in my opinion.

I purchased one of these straps over a year ago and found it to be an excellent purchase.Comfortable and with a secure fastener. It took a lot of use/abuse and I was very happy with it. However it was beginning to look a little 'worn', so I decided to buy another one.As I was so impressed by my first one, I chose to buy the exact same one again, even though it was slightly more expensive than other similar ones on Amazon.On receiving it I noticed one or two little manufacturing flaws on the bracelet but nothing that would make me reject it.Now after wearing it, for a few weeks, I am finding that the clasp is regularly coming undone (sometimes at the most inconvenient moments). The slightest knock or tap can trigger the clasp.This is a great shame, as my previous one never did this.Other than this, it is a great strap for the money.

Firstly this does look the part so for the price is pretty good. The links are easy to remove to adjust the size (follow the instructions in the box) and spend time to make sure it fits correctly.However - issue 1 is although it fits nicely, it started to irritate the inside of my wrist where the clasp sits. If I put a link back to loosen it off a little, it then kept catching my arm hairs - so it was a choice of one or the other.Issue 2 - this thing is HEAVY. WIth the sizing set correctly it weighs 80g. Compare that to my Apple leather loop at 33g and you really notice a difference. (I should add for fairness that the Apple original weighs 75g).For me, its too heavy for day to day use but I am keeping it to wear when going somewhere nice for the evening.In summary, the price is good (especially compared to the £400+ for the Apple one) but take into account all of the above.

I have got the band and it is very good quality! The metal is shiny and looks great! The tool they give to resize the band by removing some links is very sturdy and it is intuitive to resize the band. It is a VERY good alternative to the one sold by apple. Only one problem, if your arms are hairy it may snag your hairs, but if you have the band tight enough on your wrist, it wont move. Sizing is key and luckily it is very easy.

I prefer metal watch bands for the Apple watch because they make the watch heavier than alternatives of other materials (which I like) and they’re waterproof, so you never have to worry about getting them wet. This watch strap feels and looks good and I’m very happy to pay £22 for it rather than £769 for an identical looking metal link bracelet from Apple.
