Excellent all rounder for under £200
I have had the phone for 2 months, it cost £179 and it does everything I need, very well. I'm really happy with the purchase. The screen is lovely, the battery life is great too. It's a big and heavy device, but is still comfortable in my jeans pocket. You soon get used to it. It works well for most games, but I have to use it on lower graphic settings for high end 3d gaming. Pubg and World War Heroes play smoothly. I've only found one game (infinity ops) where it struggles to keep up, so far. Apps all run very smoothly, it's sturdy and well built and there's a free case in the box with a super fast 30 watt fast charger. The fast charging is so quick. It's just a joy.The Camera is good for most shots and gives excellent details and quality, especially in 64 megapixel mode. In order to get the most detailed images use the 64mp mode, but don't zoom in. This preserves the high definition throughout the photo, and you can zoom and crop later. Zooming before you take the shot in 64mp mode loses image quality, meaning (I suspect) that Motorola haven't optimised the camera software well (but at least the hardware is great.)The downsides to the phone are it doesn't have 5g, there's no WiFi calling, no magnetometer (compass), no OIS on the camera and it's not waterproof, but that's fine by me! Also I encountered a glitch with the charging, where it sometimes didn't take a charge. I've now found out that this was because I wasn't restarting the phone at all. I now restart it once a day, and the phone works flawlessly.I'm really pleased with the phone. An excellent all round package for under £200 in the spring of 2021.

Very impressed so far! For the price you can't go wrong.
Had the phone now for 24 hrs and quite impressed with it for the price. Was torn between going big with the Samsung S20 by renewing phone contract or buying a cheaper hand set and avoid the £65 a month phone contract! I'm pleasantly surprised with this phone. Was worried it was going to be too big and heavy but actually it's not. Yes it's a lot bigger than my old Samsung S8 but it still fits in my pockets and I like the big clear screen. Set up was very easy using Google and managed to transfer every over no problems. Camera is not bad at all. It's not as good as the S20 however for the price you can't knock it. I will be able to review this better after more time. It's comes with NFC which was why a went for this handset so I can use google pay. It seems quite fast and is perfect for my needs. It runs android 10 which is a nice operating system and doesn't come with a load of apps you don't want. The battery is brilliant and was another reason why I waited for this hand set. I took a risk with buying it with no reviews the day after it was listed on Amazon but have no regrets. Need to guy a decent case but there are non for sale at this point as its that new! If you are looking to break away from the expense of apple and Samsung flag ship phones then give this phone a try! It's great for the price!

Great phone
My last couple of phones have all been Motorola, so when my old phones battery gave up I knew where to go looking. This phone is really nice, excellent battery life (depending on use around 2-3 days) and takes good photos. It is quite a bit larger than any other phone I've had so that took a bit of getting used to, but it's not a deterrent.Very easy to use, fingerprint reader if you're into that and of course the usual Moto moves/gestures responses.Well worth your money if you're after a cheapish, great quality phone and no contract.

Long live moto. It didn't live.
Amazing battery life. This can last over two days with moderate use when new. I have had g and g2s in the past but went off them due to faulty handsets and denials from Motorola for bad work. My wife has a g7 which is a good phone so I thought I would try again after my Nokia 8 charging port failed after the 2 year warranty ran out. Again, a manufacturer fault refused to replace outside of warranty. Apart from this the Nokia was a fast, smooth phone. The g9 is not as good as the Nokia 8 even though newer as it suffers from stuttering in scrolling and gaming where the Nokia didn't. It is also massive in comparison.However. In its defence. It is cheaper, not that much worse, lasts for at least 4 times longer and the larger screen is brilliant.I am hoping that my curse for phones with faults has ended.Update: 3 weeks of ownership and charger has stopped charging. Amazon wanted me to accept a Chinese copy. Said no. Motorola said would replace, then can't offer an equivalent, only a half powerversion. I have not accepted. Will keep you updated. My bad experience with Motorola has re emerged. Not happy.Update. Motorola cannot supply a charger for this phone???? Why??? Cannot say when one will be available!!Hence, I have returned to Amazon for refund.
