Size recommendation for a 16 lb Pekingese?

I would say small, also. our pug is 18 lbs and we got medium. I can't say it's the wrong size, but they are big. small should be nice, especially if you do not want too much space taken up. these bowls are great. even helped with his acne.

What size bowl for a 45 LB bulldog?

The mfg description states “Large version holds 3 - 6 cups max. Intended for dogs 60 - 100lbs”. We feed our 35# Frenchie only gets 1/2 cup twice a day and the medium has lots of room. A less costly but just as effective dish has a hi/low design for the edge. It also has a rubber bottom instead of the rubber ring around the edge which crumbled in six months allowing the bowl to slide.

How much (Quantity) do the bowls hold?

I have the small bowl. It holds a cup of dry kibble BUT if the dog is a messy eater, 1 cup is going to create a mess, I think. My dog only gets a little over 1/3 of a cup. So it works great for us.
