Good basic information but only the basic help in changing behavior. I'd like more exercises and advice about compulsive shopping.

Good information, but some suggestions are not workable for an individual living in a smaller city. Adding online resources and a bibliography would be good. No group therapy sessions for shopping addiction in my city
Pretty simplistic suggested solutions for a complex issues. But this book will help someone identify the compulsive behavior that they don't even recognize

Nice and Simple
This is a nice short book on the subject. It seems to hit all of the important things related to shopping addiction such as what causes it and what to do about it. I have gone through and am still going through shopping addiction. I have used some of the strategies in this book and they do work. It does get easier to control your addiction over time. I still fall off the wagon once in a while but I get back up, brush myself off and get back in the groove. I give myself a pat on the back every time I resist the urge to buy something that is not planned for. It's a great feeling. Very good short book on the subject. It's not filled with technical terms that are difficult to understand: in other words it's written in plain English. Would recommend to anyone who thinks that they might have a problem but don't know what to do about it.

Tips and Strategies to Overcome Shopping Addiction
I was not sure what to expect when I started reading ‘Shopping Addiction: The Ultimate Guide for How to Overcome Compulsive...’ and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it started by first looking at emotions and problems created when a person has a shopping addiction. From there the book went into explaining what a shopping addiction is and how a person can look at the causes of the problem. This was a very useful section of the book because without that knowledge you don’t know what or how you can fix any problem you may have. This was an extensive section and looked at many causes that may affect a person from childhood deprivation to low self esteem.Following that there were suggestions for how to go about overcoming these emotional triggers.A person struggling with a shopping addiction is sure to find some very handy tips in this book.

Good read
I didn’t think I would get out as much as I did from the book. It goes into why you are the way you are going back to childhood and describing the different type of shopaholics because they’re allDifferent. Definitely would recommend it to get to the root of the issue.

Somewhat Helpful
The first half of the books is helpful as it outlines different types of shopping addiction and some possible reasons for someone developing a shopping addiction. However, I was expecting some sort of detailed strategy to overcome a shopping addiction in the next section but instead the book provides a few helpful tips and tricks. I don’t think this book alone would be enough to curb a shopping addiction, but nevertheless it is probably a good starting point.

Save your money. Don’t buy it.
Very basic, not detailed at all. Can get all of this information on google. Felt it was repetitive just to fill up the pages. Not worth it being made into a book.

Poor with little information
I wanted to learn clear strategies that can be used to reduce the desire to shop and with the book stating it was based on research this is what I thought it would provide. Instead it suggests group therapy and medication and suggests I may have had trauma as a child. Very poor book with little to implement.

Interesting :)
I think it’s great that someone has written a book about shopping addiction. I have often felt like this kind of addiction has become almost socially acceptable simply because materialism is so prevalent in Western societies at the moment; it’s nice to see it recognised for what it can be. Now that I have read a few of these books, I have gotten used to the introductions being fairly similar; once I found it slightly annoying that the author hadn’t created an original fresh intro but now that I have realised they’re all a part in a bigger series, I understand why it’s not been necessary to do so. I like how the book looks not only at the effects of addiction and how to overcome it but that it goes into great detail on the causes of it too. That it is more than just wanting things but that it can be deeply psychologically rooted in a person - I had no idea it could be resultant from childhood issues for example! Looking through the symptoms chapter was a little scary as I found that many of the symptoms were ones that I, or my friends, were often guilty of displaying. I wonder how close we all are to going too far and becoming addicted. Scary! The section on how to overcome a shopping addiction has a few very simple, concrete ways to move forward from an addiction and provides a great launch pad from which to leap when trying to recover. Overall, a fantastic e-book on a little discussed topic! Fab work. :)
