White's WoodsPurpleheart Lumber 3/4" x 4" x 12"

Lovely pieces of wood, good cut quality, very little warping if any and the color is spot on beautiful! I made my sister a cutting board out of these pieces, the size was just right. If you are a wood working and enjoy the hobby its easy of use to turn these into works of are will be a simple project and you will get some beautiful results!

Absolutely beautiful product!

So yeah I got what I purchased, 3/4 x 4 x 12 in slab of purpleheart wood. Its not as vibrant as the picture would lead you to believe but that is dependent on how recently it was cut, what it was sealed with and how much UV exposure it had. This is a natural process that happens to the wood. So any novices do not expect to receive purple wood and it to stay purple. The pieces I recived both have nice grain patterns but one of the pieces is starting to crack on the end. Overall it was worth it to make a small box but the price per board foot is a little much.

Too expensive but good product

Great lumber. Got 2 good solid pieces, almost like whoever boxed it knew what they were doing in regards to choosing lumber.To all the folks complaining about the color or it being fake purple heart have to understand its a tropical wood. It may be a dull brown tone but as it absorbs sunlight the color will become more vibrant, and conversely over time it'll dull back down. Purple heart is like working with a very sensitive brick.Still cant believe you can buy lumber on amazon...what an age.

Use this wood to accent walnut and maple (sandwiched between two maple cuts). It stains a little darker than I’d like using wood conditioner, and comes across more burgundy than purple.

The two pieces I received came in excellent condition. I wanted to use these for a couple purposes, as well as to just keep on hand for future projects. I plan on milling part of one for splines on a mitered joint for color contrast and strength.I plan on also making another one into pen blank sizes, and with the cost of the boards compared to prepared pen blanks to buy, these are a really good deal.I'm sure I'll find even more projects to integrate the purpleheart into as well.
