Great practice tool.
A clever and great sounding little box that is primarily designed to jam along with YouTube videos (there's some really good backing track ones on there). This is always going to be a more enjoyable way to practise guitar, particularly if you're looking for solo ideas etc. It's also got some great amp tones and effects. The amp sounds are varied and are inspiring enough to keep you playing for longer. Each amp type have some of the feel of the real thing, or close enough anyway. Editing the effects is easy with the companion app, which presents them all in an adjustable chain and allows for some serious tweaking. Very impressed with some of the delays and modulation effects.Great fun, good sounding and an inspiring practice tool. Worth every penny.

Very, very good
It's very small and very light. If you put it in your jacket pocket you would forget it was there. I have had it for 1 hour and have gone through all 99 preset sounds that came from the factory. The sound is excellent. I mean this is good enough to listen too with cheap headphones. And good enough to record with. The sound is very clear no hiss or artifacts. The presets covered the majority of guitar sounds from last 40 years. Then you connect your phone with the boss app with Bluetooth. Very easy. And you can select with the app the amplifier, the effects, reverb etc. The whole sound chain and store it.This little device is great. I wish I had this a long time ago. It is all I need. Perfect for playing at home. Only two wires, to guitar and headphones. So simple. And great sound. This little device is the future, there is no going back.

Excellent learning tool, but there is a catch
First... the good:It sounds great... it's Boss though so no surprises there. It's pretty easy to program new patches from the device itself or a tablet/phone. The presets all sound great anyhow so I don't even bother creating new ones. The app is pretty good too. There is no detectable latency either in the BT audio from your mobile device or the PocketGT itself. Videos & audio perfectly in sync. The bad... the playlist management is not great. The app when running on a table is just scaled up phone app rather than taking advantage of the larger screen area.To get the best functionality from the app... i.e. to be able to play along with, loop, time-stretch etc. YT videos have to be embeddable. Many are not. I don't know if this is a YT default or people are not allowing embedding but I am coming across more and more like this. This kind of gets in the way of enjoying the full functionality.

Great device for practicing
Found this when it popped up in my YouTube feed. Couldn’t wait to get one, and I’m not disappointed.Via its app on my IPad I link YouTube backing tracks and set a preset patch for it. When connected to your tablet or phone, the audio is routed to the Pocket GT headphone.I would rate this almost as a “must have” accessory for electric guitar 🎸Look up reviews on YouTube for more details 👍

It’s Boss so of course it’s awesome! 😂
Super portable way to practice and use it with ipad and YouTube. The sounds are phenomenal and it’s a lot of fun using with the editor to sculpture your own tones. I like streaming music with it and playing along with my favourite songs. I love that it is rechargeable and no batteries are needed. I use it with a little Bose speaker as well, which is perfect for hearing great sound without annoying the neighbours. I haven’t used it as an interface with a laptop yet, but again, if you are an artist on the road, it’s such a portable solution. Guitar, laptop and the Bos and you are recording your tracks in no time. In the usb settings you can use it with a dry signal if you want to use amplitude or thu. Highly recommended!

Practice away my friends.
I am really happy I bought the Boss Pocket GT. Had it for around four months now and use it as my default headphone practice amp. Great for playing along to backing tracks via Bluetooth connection to phone or computer and to run tracks from software like Band in a Box or iReal player (not included with the Pocket GT). Good range of built in amps and effects from Boss GT range - check internet for demonstrations. Was easy to set up connection to my iPhone and MacBook. More expensive than the units that plug directly into your guitar or bass but worth the extra money in my opinion.

Great unit - but took several hours to get it set up.
Firstly, the pocket gt sounds great - the amp simulation and effects are excellent. I'm a little bit disappointed that as a new device it still has an older style usb connector instead of usb-c.I bought the pocket gt mainly for the ability to practice against youtube videos but found that the first 30 or so videos I attempted to import failed with a message (paraphrased) "importing is blocked by the video owner". It seems to be the case that vast majority of videos (at least the ones I'm trying to use) are blocked. So I then attempted to import the audio and spent several hours struggling with this. On IOS the only option is to import by your music library. I then couldn't figure out how to get music into itunes libary, and I first had to take a paid apple music subscription to convert the music library to 'icloud music" There seems to be no way around this? Then I had a multitube of problems with itunes not syncing the library from my laptop to my phone. So whilst none of this is drirectly due to the boss software, it could be solved easily with an option to import music/mp3s directly.Hopefully these teething issues will be addressed - either with better insturctions or improving the software.

Good practice tool
Only getting 4 stars until they sort the app to work in landscape mode on iOS.Other than that; this a great tool to carry around with you; doesn't need a phone/tablet for practice either. Would be good if Boss put a metronome on in standalone or app mode too. Also figure a way to connect to their excellent BR80 as an input.
