A great model
Perfect Christmas gift to my 14 year old son who loves modelling given our fond memory of visiting the real HMS Belfast in 2019. Unfortunately one of the paint pots had dried snd hardened, but mixing some acrylics soon solved the issue, given the lockdown preventing a visit to shops for Humbrol paints.

Highly detailed model but obviously due too scale can be a bit fiddly.
Highly detailed model and value for money.

As expected
Present for my son who has got back into model making again. Well made and has everything in the kit required to complete. Will purchase again from the supplier.

This one was a challenge
Very nice kit but oh so fiddly as you would expect from this scale. If you have fat fingers like me you will need to have a lot of patience. The sliding torpedo tube panels nearly drove me insane, trying to leave them moveable as in the instructions. The acrylic paints need several applications to even out the colour but perseverance brings out the fine detail better than a heavy plastic enamel does. Must get myself an airbrush!

Poor model and set - don't buy
HMS Belfast and the county class cruisers are some of my fave warships, and was pretty excited about this set. On all acounts, this set is poor - especially as it is marketed to beginners. The model itself is very poorly moulded. I want to make clear, that this kit is based on a 1973 model airfix kit, but that isnt the issue - the issue is that this set is cheap and there is lots of flash (bits of plastic left over from the moulding process) that needs to be cleaned off, but worst of all, a lot of the parts do not fit at all, leaving gaps or needing to be cut - this is problematic for new modellers. This kit has many small parts that are of really poor quality and this makes the aesthetics pretty nasty. The instructions are really poor as well, meaning that its really hard to follow, but the paint scheme is really poorly laid out and unclear. Lastly, the paints provided with this set are actually great, but there is far too little paint in the main colours - and for beginners having too much paint is better than not enough. All in all I cannot recommend this kit at all

Challenging..... But fun
Unfortunately full of flash, some of the paints were caked and the model itself is warped in placesBut, that's the challenge for mePerhaps not modellers new to the hobby though

pleased customer
bought a model as akit and it was supplied complete as a kit - would have been nice if the colour chart was colour. Excellent value for money - I have spent a few hours with my son on this and may buy one again as his paint and glue hand gets better
