hands down the best sketchbook
This is hands down the best sketchbook i’ve ever used. takes mixed media like a champ with no pulling or buckling under several layers of marker and india ink. the paper is smooth, nothing bleeds through, colors look beautiful on the slightly off white paper and it’s simply just the best.

I plan to use Leuchtturms for life. Handles wet materials well!
The media could not be loaded. Recommendation: Do NOT have it shipped in its own packaging. It’s just plastic wrap and that's not enough to keep it safe in transit. Even with the ding, I love mine! I've been using it for about 6 months with no problems. Paper is excellent and meets my standards for mixed media (can handle light guache and watercolor paints without bleed through, no water-based marker bleedthrough). Paper is white, not cream, but not bright white either, it looks slightly textured in person but doesn't feel textured when you run your hand over it. This is my first Leuchtturm and I plan for all my future sketchbooks to be these as well. Also I love the square shape on this one.

Gorgeous.
This was my second time purchasing this- the first was for my partner who adores it. The second was a gift for a friend. It’s a gorgeous journal and a great gift (for yourself or someone else). I personally prefer a dot journal, and created a lined paper template to put behind the pages in case my friend wants to journal (opposed to sketching) but different strokes! My Dabo&Shobo alcohol markers bled through to the other side, my Tombow set of dual sided brush markers did not.The journal has a nice “tooth” and if it were my own art journal I’d be comfortable using graphite, ballpoint, marker, and perhaps a dryer watercolor. It won’t hold up to wet paint well.Personally I think it’s a gorgeous journal, with high functionality.

I love this sketchbook so much wow
I absolutely LOVE this sketchbook!! I had been looking for a replacement of my usual Moleskine sketchbooks and I think this is it. The paper is lovely, where I can use many different pens and markers for all my sketching/character design/gestures/figure drawings that I want and it doesn't bleed through at all. Keep in mind that I have mainly used Sharpie highlighters, Big Round Stic blue pens, Crayola markers, prisma colors, and Tul markers, so I'm not sure how copics would react to the pages if you are interested in those. I imagine they'd bleed through only a little, but that can be easily solved by placing a blank paper behind the one you're drawing on. The binding is also very neat, where I'm already past the halfway point of the sketchbook and the sketchbook isn't folding in on itself or becoming loose in any way; so those of you that are interested in scanning your drawings (like I've done) will have a very easy time of doing so.The sketchbook also has a little folder compartment in the back that works great for any small rulers or scrap papers you want to put in it. Artist tape works perfectly with it too, not tearing off a single bit of the paper. By adding one of those pencil holders/pen sleeve cases with the adjustable elastic band, this is my perfect sketchbook.Very happy artist here, can't wait to buy again!

A Reliable Companion
My go-to sketchbook for home and abroad. This book has become my trusted companion. It's sleek in its design, while still feeling weighty and firm due to its high-quality construction. The paper feel is excellent and I haven't had any issues with bleed. The aesthetic appeal of the book is undeniable. Mine in particular is black but I'm sure it would look equally sophisticated in other colors. The landscape format allows me to lose myself in the page or do background studies on a whim. The dimensions are just right for any artistic expression. In short, its sleek design, paper quality, and build make it a reliable choice for any creative individual seeking a versatile sketchbook.

Great for pen/ink and VERY light watercolor
Just close to finishing up my second Leuchtturm1917 and figured I would share my thoughts here. For the most part, if you are into pen & ink drawings/skeyching, there is quite a bit of "bang for buck" with this sketchbook...although the price has seemed to increase a bit since buying my first one. The attached photo is mixed with a Pentel Fude brush pen and light watercolor so it can handle heavy ink and some color with slight warping. It CANNOT handle heavy washes as the paper will buckle and fray after multiple layers. It technically can handle alcohol markers, but the colors don't seem to "pop" and there will be bleed through so I wouldn't make that your main medium.Pros:- Sturdy bindings and paper. Never had any issues coming apart.- A variety of colors and sizes if you get bored like to have more than just black or brown sketchbooks- Comes with a back pocket, binding and cover labels and two ribbon markers- Paper is smooth and sturdy. If you like white paper, black ink shows up very well here.Cons:- No toned paper- Value for money is "okay". My first Leuchtturm1917 a couple years ago was under $20, making it a nice alternative to a Moleskine; however, now they are closer in precise.- Doesn't handle watercolor well.

DAMAGED BY AMAZON BEFORE PACKAGING!
These sketchbooks are quality, gorgeous paper, and great sizes. They take a good amount of acrylic paint, glue from collage, and erasing. Price is very comparable to Seawhite and others. Amazon packed mine with a broken back and bent pages ... the shipping box was fine.

New Favorite
The downside: Copic Marker ABSOLUTELY bleeds through. The upside: the A5 landscape size feels fantastic to draw in! I'm having a blast with this page layout and the green is a great color. It's sturdy enough to glue extra pages in to cover bleed, and acryllic marker does great! (Also it has a pocket!)
