Bright, deep, gorgeous colors and a smooth writing experience make this set of eight medium point retractable pens just about perfect. The pens have a soft non-latex grip so they are comfortable to hold and the gel ink dries almost on contact so no smearing. Gel is superior because it is so smooth when gliding over the paper and it has reliable coverage – always even -- with no variance in the intensity of the color. If unaware, the tip of each pen has a tiny plastic cover so remove it before attempting to write. I have been using them for over a month and will definitely replace with more when the time comes. The product does not disappoint.

I'm a total pen nut, and if you opened every drawer and purse and looked all around the nooks and crannies of my home, you'd probably find 200. Probably more. (Along with at least a hundred Sharpies, but that's another story.) And I love vibrant color. These Energel pens are my favorite. They are a total joy to write with. The ink flows easily and the colors are gorgeous. With the rubber grip, they feel good in your hand. These are head and shoulders above products made by other manufacturers that look very similar. There is a different Energel pen on the market that comes in a different tube style. It looks like it is silver-tone metal (thought I don't know that it is) rather than plastic. It looks and feels better to hold than this model, and it seems like it would withstand wear and tear a little better. The ink colors are beautiful and flow effortlessly onto paper. I like the metal tip -- although if you prefer a finer line, you might want to look for EnerGel pens with a needle tip. I am always happy when I am writing with an EnerGel pen -- highly recommended.

Very smooth writing and the colors are vibrant. Pentel energel pens are my favorite. These pens are reasonably priced and worth the price.

I love these pens! They are vibrant in color, write so smoothly, and the gel dries fast so they don't smudge too easily. I am a second grade teacher so I like to grade work with colorful pens. My only issue and why they received 4 stars is that 2 of the pens began leaking gel after just about 2 weeks of use. I do not use one color all the time so I doubt it was from over using the pink and red pens! They leaked so badly that all the pens in the pen holder are stained, as well as the pen holder on the inside. I will most likely buy these again when they run out, since it may have just been a fluke. No pen is leak resistant and I like them enough to give them another try! It would have been nice to have all the colors, but they were leaking too badly I had to throw them away :-(

VERY GOOD PENS WITH SMOOTH WRITING INK, AND EASY TO HOLD. PENTEL MAKES QUALITY PRODUCTS THAT ARE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE COMPETITION, BUT WORTH THE MODERATE EXTRA COST. THE MAJOR DIFFERETIATOR IS HOW SMOOTH THE INK TRANSFERS TO THE PAPER. THE LESS EXPENSIVE BRANDS SEEM TO SCRATH THE INK ONTO THE PAPER. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND !
