I wish I would have taken a picture of the “picture perfect” red velvet cake I made at Christmas! It was beautiful and absolutely delicious (recipe from Sally’s Baking Addiction)! Oh, my goodness, EVERYONE was impressed with the outcome. I was thrilled the cake had none of that chemical taste that most red food colorings leave in your homemade baking products which ultimately spoils all the hard work you put in to make the perfect dessert or cookie. This got the job done with no after taste, and the resulting cake was a beautiful deep red worthy of a high end bakery (even if I do say so myself)! Chefmaster has produced the most perfect red food color in a convenient, no drip, no waste, flavorless gel form. I’m happy and will return for other food dye products whenever I need them for future baking. I highly recommend this product…especially for red velvet cake and cookie baking! Very good didn't need much to get the look I wanted with my strawberry cake for Valentine's Day.

This purple food coloring has great pigment — it’s vibrant, rich, and mixes smoothly without clumping or streaking. A tiny drop is all you need for frostings, batters, or DIY treats. It blends well in both buttercream and royal icing. The only reason it’s not five stars is that the color can darken slightly after sitting overnight, so it’s best to mix a little at a time and test the shade first. Still, it’s one of the best purples I’ve used — bright without turning gray or dull. TL;DR: Strong pigment, smooth texture, and long-lasting — just use sparingly for perfect purple tones.

I love Chefmaster colors. Absolutely all the colors are very pigmented and perfect for both cakes and creams.

Bought three colors. This is great for coloring icing and cakes. The gel was so much nicer than liquid, and the color is actually the color you want.
