LeMieux Vogue Fleece Headcollar with Lead Rope - Extra Padding, Adjustable at Curb and Poll Strap

Bought a new horse in November and had a old leather head collar she has been using. Thought I would buy her this for Christmas. Have been using it already. Have had it four days and the head collar itself is lovely. Very well padded on the poll and nose and I got full size as she is 16.2 sport horse. It fits her perfectly.However the lead rope is already tatty. It has bits of the material sticking out in loops and all I have used it for is to lead her down to the field and back. Disappointed with this as Le Mieux stuff is always good quality that I have had for my horses in the past.Head collar perfect - lead rope disappointing!

A really nice head collar as you would expect from Le Mieux but the matching lead rein is made of a fabric that pulls threads easily and attracts every piece of hay and bedding.

A bit dissappointed that my horse pulled back when tied up and the clip on the lead rope broke into several pieces. I accept that there may not be a clip that can withstand the weight of a horse pulling hard on it and that nylon baling twine is stronger than a lead rope clip. Other than that the headcollar looks very nice and I would probably buy it again if I needed another one.

I read reviews that these were poor quality but when mine arrived I thought it looked great - first time I used it was yesterday & the lead rope fell apart!! It started unravelling!!! Can’t believe it for such a well known make! So far the head collar is okay but to be honest I’ve only used it once so we’ll see! Such a shame as they look lovely!

My horse loves his new head collar. Fits snug Any bigger than 15hh I would go for a full though. I have a conamarra and cob fits him but think I could have had full for abit more movement when taking off and putting bridal on. He's very good and stands still, but if you need to put head collar on over bridal to tie up then go bigger. I wish I had but can't be bothered to send back. It's his field head collar now.

The headcollar was exactly what I needed for my new cob. He is awkward to catch if you faff around. My old headcollar was too soft and difficult to tell which part was the nose band or head strap when in a hurry. He won’t stand round and wait for it to be straightened out. I love the leMieux as I can quickly slide it over his nose and ears then fasten the cheek catch. So much simpler. The fleece on be nose and head piece makes it clear which way it goes so no more tangles and it’s firmer.He seems to like it too which is the most important thing. It also looked good.

The headcollar is really nice and looks quite comfy, but the description is misleading. I am not sure everybody receives it complete but mine came without the leadrope. I am not returning it as it is now overseas and it would not be feasible, but I though I put a note there warning other possible buyers.
