It’s metal type. Not sure what kind. You just use nonstick cooking spray and the tortilla will come off with ease

Hi, is it possible to regulate the temperature?

No. There is no button for that. It is very low heat. Only to precook the tortilla. You cannot cook it on the press.

Does this bake the tortillas?

INo, it precooks them, there still raw but are round and can be handled to be placed on a griddle to be fully cooked. I absolutely love this machine.
