Q: Has anyone used these for a 6 month old?

Yes, They worked great for my son while he was drinking formula and oat cereal. I started using them around 4 months with him for his acid reflux.

Q: Is the Y cut only for thicker liquid? Or would it help make practice for a straw?

Q: I have a 6 month old who needs rice cereal in her formula,We currently have level 2, would the level 4 be better, or the Y cut?

I use an x cut but found the rice cereal clogged in the Dr. Brown vents. I bought some evenflow x cut nipples that have a vent on the nipple itselfand no longer use the Dr. Brown's. I have had good results!

Q: Do they fit playtex bottle ??

I bought secondhand playtex ventaire bottles. The narrow necked ventaires aren’t sold anymore. Dr. Brown’s narrow nipples work perfectly.
