Excellent High Capacity Insulated Beverage Container
Ordered this on Saturday night about 1030 and it was here on MONDAY! Well packaged, arrived in perfect condition. Here's the nuts 'n' bolts:The Lifeline 7508 is surprisingly lightweight for its size; it weighs about the same empty as my 1984 one-liter, wide mouth Thermos model 2470, so the steel walls are NOT as heavy gauge as my older thermos. You don't have to baby it, but it may not stand up to hard use and abuse as well as the thermos did/does.The cap is well insulated; there was NO condensation on the cap and the Lifeline 7508 sat on the porch in the shade (but still 103F) all day. The cap on the Thermos 2470 is an uninsulated pour-through type and DOES get condensation on it, even with the plastic cup in place over it.Cap seals leak-free. The trick (such as it is) is to screw the cap on just tight enough to seal leak-free. Tightening it down until your eyes bug out doesn't make it any more leak-free-er; it'll just ruin the rubber o-ring seal. (Learned that the hard way with the thermos way back when.)About half filled with ice and the rest cold unsweet tea, it stays frosty cold all day or until I've finished all the tea. Add more tea and a handful of ice cubes and it's good to go all over again.Pouring into a cup (cheated and used the thermos cup) from the Lifeline 7508 is most definitely a two-handed operation, especially if you don't want all the ice to end up in your cup. I've ordered a Hydro Flip pour-through cap by Hydro Flask that other reviewers have recommended, and will update once it gets here and goes into service.Speaking of caps - several other reviewers have reported that the cap breaks if you drop the 7508 on it. Yes, can see that happening - the 7508 is heavy when full, and the cap is just plastic. Suggest two things:* From our friends in the 'No Duh! Department' - don't drop it on the cap, although that's one of those 'probably gonna happen eventually' things.* Order an extra cap (or two) when you order the 7508. Extra cap always good to have on hand, especially if the cap breaks just as you're heading out the door with it. Also, not to say that this model doesn't get changed, 'improved', or discontinued in the future. So, short version. Works well, holds a lot, stays cold for a long time. Would like a lunch-box type carrying handle and a screw-on cup, but then it'd be a thermos and not a growler. Anticipate that I can rig carry handle.Am well pleased - highly recommend.20 AUG 14Hydro Flip Cover fits perfectly. Cardboard hang-tag on the packaging states 'NOT LEAKPROOF' in two separate locations, but it HAS been leak proof so far. Hydro Flip cover also NOT insulated, so it does collect condensation, but doesn't seem to affect how cold the contents stay.11 JUN 15Been using the heck out of it and have experienced no difficulties with it. Stays cold in a hot summertime car or in the shade on a 100-plus degree porch, Hydro Flip Cover holding up just fine - still completely leak-proof.

Great product, fair price, but needs a carrying sleeve or handle.
I really like this product, the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is it is so hard to handle. I mostly use for tennis matches, often in the hot sun and it keeps my ice water cold for the entire match and often beyond. A few times, I had more ice at the end of the match than water. It's not supposed to sweat, but it does. Not a big deal for me. I find it will also get slightly cold, which is surprising considering the vacuum insulation. Again, as long as I have cold water for a few hours, I don't really care.People complain about the cap, but it appears to be a fairly sturdy cap. I suspect the bottle is do heavy that most caps would easily break if dropped upon. Besides, replacement caps are available. My major complaint is the lack of handle or carrying sleeve. I often have a bag or other equipment I'm carrying and this requires a dedicated hand to carry. I often will carry it by the loop on the cap. I suspect this isn't a very good idea considering the weight. I would gladly purchase a sleeve, but none are offered.

Does what I wanted it for, but careful..it's BIG
I have a number of insulated water bottles from different manufacturers (Klean Kanteen, Hydro Flask, and S'well). This one does the cold side just as well as the others. Haven't done hot yet (that's a lot of hot water. not sure if i'd ever do that) I got it because I found I wasn't drinking enough water in the office because the breakroom in the new digs was just too far away, and I didn't get there often enough. I infuse it with a cucumbers or strawberries or raspberries or blueberries just for a little more flavor. I put about 1/3 ice on top of the fruit/veg and then fill with cold water. My plan was to use to refill a smaller container, but I'm finding that I just drink from this. It's is BIG. Need to use 2 hands to drink. Haven't been able to find a way to carry from the car effectively. I could hang it on the cap tether and it seems like it'll hold, but it's pretty heavy with a half gallon of water (over 5lbs). Could hurt the tether, and that weight swinging around could be bad. I just hold it like a football. In other reviews, I saw issues with the cap. Not sure if it's been changed, but I'm happy with it. It is plastic. But, seems OK. I've seen better and it could be improved. But, not horrible. Would be nice to have some sort of ring, so I could hang it if i wanted to. That feature would have been better than the tether. I'm not dinging them a star on that because the price is pretty good for 64oz insulated. I like the barrel look better than the shorter, fatter, tampered at the top look. Maybe I should have just gotten a 64oz insulated mug. Seems like it might have served my purposes at a lower cost and have hangability. Oh well, I like this and it works fine.Update: Bought the The Brew Hauler "Mini" Carboy Carrier to carry it in and works great with an elastic band to keep it from coming off. Also got the Hydro Flask Wide Mouth Straw Lid which makes it much easier to drink. Got lazy with lifting it up all the time. Bought a long metal straw at first, but had problems with carrying it with the lid on and trying to keep it in the car. The Hydro Flask Wide Mouth Straw Lid fits perfectly and works fine. Only issue is when I put ice in sometimes. The ice will freeze together when I put water in so it can be hard to get the straw through and twist the top on. The other thing is the straw doesn't go all the way to the bottom. Feels like a inch short. Oh well. You could probably find a longer plastic straw to use. They seem pretty standard.

It is very big which is good because you do not have to fill as often
Bought this for my wife. It is very big which is good because you do not have to fill as often. Because of the big size, drinking directly from it is a bit difficult.Product is very durable, you will be able to get many years of use. Hopefully the cap, which is made of plastic, will last.It holds ice very well. This bottle is great for keeping things cold for a very long time. Hot water does not work very well with this bottle. It is not able to keep heat for very long. A lot of the heat escape through the cap and the cap feels warm to the touch.Overall, good bottle. If you are like my wife and do not like to constantly refilling your water bottle then this product is for you. If you want light weight or portability or plan to use it for hot drinks, then is not for you.

I wish the inside cap was also stainless and also that there was a sturdy cap loop or attachment point
Performs its function well - holds temperature and carbonation well. I wish the inside cap was also stainless and also that there was a sturdy cap loop or attachment point. Overall I'm quite happy with the product for bringing my homebrew for my kegging set up to small gatherings to share.

Love it. I always carry a bottle of ice ...
Love it. I always carry a bottle of ice water with me. On family outings, my husband and daughter drink it and leave me with none. This jug holds enough for all of us. I fill it with two trays of ice and cold water. It will stay cold, and still have ice, at room temperature for two days!
