The size is acceptable for younger children (ours is ten and still uses it).You literally just take it out of the bag and unfold it so it’s easy to set up and take down.The wood has sufficient padding on it that we aren’t worried about falls or injuries. Makes it more comfortable on the feet and on the parents mind.Over al it’s built well for a practice beam and works as advertised.

My boys love this, they got it for Christmas and they use it to practice sword fighting like in the princess bride. It’s lightweight so they can move it around themselves, the youngest is 7. Folds up for easy storage.

Honestly for the price this is great for at home gymnast to get additional practice in.Pros:-Very lightweight and easy to move-Sturdy and not flimsy (good for price)Cons:-It is just the material but I hate how it catches every piece of lint- because being lightweight it does slide a bit on carpet. Works best on hardwood floors

Great little balance beam. Bought for my granddaughter, who is 7 and in gymnastics. Bought for her at Christmas and she loves it. Her younger sister loves it too. Very helpful in learning balance.

My granddaughter loves this set! Easy to assemble, and its functionality is ideal It’s the perfect size and weight, it’s safe, and good quality. Would recommend this set for beginner gymnasts.

My daughter likes this balance beam, and the price is relatively low, so it might work okay for you. It folds up and stores relatively easy, and it is lightweight so our 9 year old can carry it around by herself, both of which are super handy features.But just keep in mind it is very cheaply made. The hinge isn't all that well designed and after just a few days of play, one screw fell out and has been lost, and another screw BROKE OFF (which very rarely happens, IMHO, except with very poorly made screws.) It's not that hard to fix, but doesn't give me confidence this will hold up, long-term.So... shop around, maybe this is the best option for the price, just realize you may need to make some repairs over time.
