Best little subwoofer.
Best little subwoofer for the price. Thumps harder than expected. Have it in a new ranger in the middle of back seat facing forward. Dividing the back seat. Have a 1000w amp. I don't turn it up all the way.

Great tube with some minor issues
I love this bass tube. I think it’s very attractive to look at and sounds amazing. I have it hooked up to a Kicker Key 500.1. This 8” sub punches way above it’s weight. The mirrors in my 14 Explorer shake like crazy. I do have 2 minor complaints though.1) Like others have said, the wire connectors on this thing are a joke. They come off way too easy. If it arrives “dead”, open it up to see if a connector came loose. I opened it up to rewire it at 4ohms and I thought I broke it when it didn’t play once I put it back together. Turns out the wire connectors kept falling off.2) This little sub pushes a crazy amount of air. I don’t know if it’s the size or the shape of the port but there is some very turbulent air that creates a “rattle” at high volume. I tried wrapping the port tube with some Dynamat but it really didn’t make a difference. Nothing physically is rattling but the air out of the port can create some noise.Overall I extremely happy and if something should ever happen, I’m looking forward to throwing a 8” SKAR SVR series in the same tube enclosure. Although I will certainly replace all the wire connectors.

Wholesome bass!!
Loved the cosmetic appeal. Suited for single cab trucks. Wholesome base with the right amp just did the job.

Really good tube subwoofer but could be better.
First off, this is a good product as is. The biggest issue is the factory wiring. The second issue is finding a compatible amp. Finally, I got the most out of this tube by doing what another reviewer on the Skar website suggested: change the subwoofer.Incredibly, the tube comes wired at 1 ohm!!! Now that isn't too terrible as quite a few amps are capable of doing that now but the RMS of the sub is terribly low for 1 ohm. Only 200 RMS for the sub. However, it's a dual voice coil sub so it can be rewired (in series) for 4 ohms. But having to take apart a brand new sub on day one is not ideal. An amp making just 200 watts RMS at 1 ohm is a needle in a haystack. Good luck. After rewiring a 4 ohm amp is much easier to find. But again, this requires rewiring a brand new subwoofer. Fortunately, it isn't hard to do so if you know anything about subs and wiring or can follow YouTube instructions. In short, to achieve a 4 ohm load on a dual 2 ohm voice coil sub, wire one of the voice coil's positive posts to the other voice coil's negative post. The remaining positive and negative posts (on different coils) go to the amp. Boom. 4 ohms. Should have been wired like this with only 200 RMS to work with. The Skar amp I would use is the RP-350.1D. Yes, "only" 150 RMS at 4 ohms but Skar claims to underrate their amps. The performance of the factory sub is just ok. It can't be turned up very much on 200 watts RMS without straining. It also struggles below 40 hz. The box itself is very nice but could benefit from a better sub.So, I did like some others have done and installed a Skar SDR-88 D2. It can handle more wattage and hits lower. Now it performs like I want it to and sounds more like the old mid 90's Kicker Substation. That's what I wanted but didn't want to rehab an old subwoofer. In the end I rehabbed a new one. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯I finally got what I wanted after @$160. So it's a 4 star because some may very well be happy with the factory performance but they will still probably have to rewire it.

Boom Boom
Only giving this 5 starts because for the money it’s pretty good but there are other 8in tubes out there that are better.

More space and bass
I purchased the 8” bass tube to save room and my ears from my 15” subs and this was the perfect option. I didn’t bother trying the sub that came with this because it’s only 200 watts rms wired to 1 ohm on a skar rp1200 so I replaced it with the Skar svr 8” and wired it in series to 4 ohms and it fits in this tube without modifying. The sound is just what I was looking for (clean and precise) and it’s hard to imagine it’s coming from this small little 8. Not going to set any spl records but it it will still shake your rear view without taking up your whole trunk for under 200$ all together.
