Great little cheap antenna for BC125at
I don't do too many reviews, but I figured I'd share this one. For 10 bux, this was a great investment. BNC connector is great-often the connectors on these Chin*** parts are the failure point. I can now get UHF dispatch (155.xxx) anywhere in my county. I have this on a Uniden BC125at and the UHF reception is perfect. It doesn't help with low band unless I'm right on top of the xmitting radio, but the BC125at isn't really that powerful of a radio anyways. Low band is clearer with this antenna than with the factory Uniden antenna, at similar range. For a cheapo antenna, this was a nice find. Would highly recommend.

Quality scanner antenna
A very good antenna, seems to be made well, very affordable.

Poor performance
I tested this using an HP RF source and spectrum analyzer at 500MHz. It was 7-8dB WORSE than the whip antenna from my SDS-100 at the same distance. Aside from being closer to a window, it's doubtful this antenna will give you any better performance than the one on your scanner.

Do not use for ham / only safe for scanner use
NOT FOR HAM. Works great for Rx ONLY. I wouldn’t transmit on this with most ham bands as it could damage your radio. Shouldn’t be advertised as anything ham-related. If you just want to listen ie scanner - then it’ll work fine.

Works well where the signals are hard to pick up. The antenna does exactly what I need it to do.
This item arrived well packaged and padded. The product is as described, is well built and works and fits well. Being surrounded by mountains, radio signals and repeater stations are blocked and hard to pickup. Using this antenna on a handheld scanner indoors, allows me to receive signals that I could not before. Other signal that were not as clear or hard to receive, I can hear fine. Hearing the forest service transmissions, firefighting helicopters and aircraft, as well as the ground crews is beneficial. I would expect the same excellent performance if I were to use the antenna in a vehicle or on a tractor or ATV. The durability for indoor use is good, I am not sure how it would do in freezing snow over time.

Antenna is preforming well. Because I analyze waterfall signals I can move it's position easily like a directional.
