What is the difference between the different heads available (drop, down, regular) & circumstances for using each?

I just received this K-6 auger yesterday. It says it is a Drophead catalog # 59802. The head looks nothing like the head in the picture. Mine has a swivel head, with a 1 1/4" dia. hook in front, but the spring wire doubles backward to (4) rings of 1 3/8" dia. With the front hook's protruding point, the effective dia. of the assembly is 1 1/2". Bottom line, I was unable to get this auger to go past the first sharp bend, only 14" into either of my two (non clogged*) toilets! I tried multiple times in both toilets. I tried turning in reverse a little, no help. I evven put a dril on it to allow slow even turning while pushing hard, then lightly. No go. *After clearing one clogged toilet w/o an auger a few days ago, I decided to buy this for future use. I thought I'd run it through both of my (non clogged) toilets to see if it found any left over debris.

is this the auger that Professional plumbers use?

I don’t know if professional plumbers use it. But, from my prospective it is certainly heavy enough for any home use. I have used it on seven occasions with excellent results (saved a service call to a plumber). So it has saved me a lot of money.

It says it is 6 feet. Is that the total lenght, including the fixed part, or is it 6 feet into the drain from the entry to the toilet?

6' IS TOTAL LENGTH OF ITEM, LET ME SAY IT WORKS GOOD. THE BENT END GOES IS TOILET AND YOU CAN START SNAKE DOWN AND IN BY TURNING HANDLE AND A LITTLE FORCE

How do you clean it? and how to keep it from rusting?

Once you get the clog broke loose the water in the toilet useuly cleans it out if you think it’s gonna start rusting just spray it down with WD-40 or pour some oil on it it’s a hell of a tool
