This was exactly what I needed to knit garments for my newest grandchildren. The vintage patterns are adapted for modern knitters and currently available yarns.

Great if you're looking for vintage patterns with today's colors.

I had to figure a few steps out and remake adding assumed steps on 2 patterns I had to look up ( on internet)other ways to make certain stitches

This collection of knits for babies features designs based on vintage baby clothes from the 1920s to 1950s.The patterns are grouped into loose categories (Christening, Out & About, Wrap Up Warm, etc) and are often presented as sets (gown, booties, and bonnet, for example). There's also a section on toys, including an adorable bunny called the Primrose Rabbit, and a set of building blocks (great for stashbusting scraps).I count a total of 30 different patterns and pattern sets (the total pattern count would be a lot more). Unfortunately only two patterns are listed on Ravelry. :/Sizing ranges from one size only to two or three (including sweaters/garments); one cardigan was offered in four sizes.Many of the patterns include lace details; the others are textured, including a cute textured sailboat motif. There are a couple stranded designs, including a teddy bear sweater. Although many of the patterns are modeled by girls, and the styling of the book is very romantic, there are plenty of patterns that are unisex.I received my copy from the publisher.

It's a beautiful book and I immediately set about making a number of projects. There are some truly awful errors in a number of the patterns which require a keen eye and knitting brain to sort out so I wouldn't suggest this book for a novice knitter. It needs a thorough edit for these careless mistakes -that said if you like a challenge and have experience knitting projects like this before you will work it out. Disappointing as otherwise a really lovely book.

I received the book and already started working on a project from the book and completed it in time for the baby's arrival home. Easy to follow instructions and great tips also.

Wanted a pattern book for traditional baby knits. This book is perfect. Has some lovely patterns & think the new baby will look beautiful in the hand knitted garments.

A gift for someone who can knit, so I can't say more

I was sceptical about buying a book of patterns without seeing all of the designs but I'm so glad I did. There's a wide variety designs for both boys and girls and in a variety of yarn weights too. I love elegant, classic patterns and this book is a beautiful collection. Would recommend
