YOUTH RENEWAL===============Will this take years off you? No. Will you look ten years younger? No. Will it make a difference to your skin... Yes.After using this for a month now I've had a few comments. And I took photo before and after and can see an improvement. Huge? No. But an improvement nonetheless. And in the words of the UK top retailer, every little helps.PREMIUM=========It's part of a premium skin care range which looks OK, Is packaged OK and feels beautiful.WHAT IS A FACE SERUM AND HOW DO THEY WORK=========================================Face serums are lightweight moisturisers that penetrate deeper to deliver 'active ingredients' into your skin. The most expensive serums aren't always the best, but they do tend to contain higher quality, more concentrated ingredients. They vary astronomically in price. Some are reasonable BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT rule to follow with serums: don't overuse the product.More isn't always better. Because serums are typically 'very concentrated', a little goes a long way.Unlike oils and moisturisers which tend to sit on the skin to provide a protective layer, serums serums contain particles that are small enough to penetrate the skin and reach the epidermis with a direct hit of the 'active ingredients.ACTIVE INGREDIENTS=================Some are better at targeting specific concerns: brown spots, lines, etc. There is no single "best" serum, so try a few and see what agrees with YOU. You'll read many reviews says "DON'T BUY THIS BECAUSE.." (They're always in capitols too) some active ingredients agree with people, whilst some don't. If you know an active ingredient is included that you don't get on with try an alternate.YOUTH======It did smooth out some imperfections and I felt brighter. It was easily absorbed and not at all greasy.OVERALL=======Had a positive effect on the skin. Quite quick results too.And it seems to last for ages as you only use a little.

Effective but harsh
You know when you're buying Murad products that you're getting (and paying for!) a high level of active ingredients, so you're likely to see some effects, unlike some creams which feel nice but do nothing. This serum comes in a pump action bottle which dispenses a little bit of product into the hand on a controlled and hygienic manner. The product is slightly scented (unnecessary in my opinion) and is light and non-sticky. It smoothes easily onto the skin, doesn't feel thick or heavy, and absorbs quite quickly without leaving a slimy film like some serums. It does however feel quite harsh - I suppose this is the tightening effect on the skin which reduces wrinkles, but it is a bit uncomfortable and as such I wouldn't recommend it for sensitive skins. It doesn't feel as moisturising as some serums either. This does seem to reduce the appearance of creases in the skin, but it's not the most luxurious or pleasant product around.

Great quality product but contains Retinol which may cause skin sensitivity
Murad is one of my favourite skin care product ranges and I am always impressed by the quality and efficacy of their products. This serum is in Murad's youth renewal range. I have been using it at night, before a moisturiser for a couple of months now and I do think it has improved the condition of my skin. This Resurgence serum relies on 'Retinol Tri-Active Technology' and my skin, which is sensitive, does sometime tingle as I put it on. I see that some reviewers here have had a reaction. Maybe this is why Murad's advice is to use it at night and to reduce frequency of application if sensitivity occurs. The serum comes in a no-nonsense pump dispenser and very little is required. The only downside to Murad products is that they re a bit pricey but I always maintain that on a cost per use basis they are good value for a great product.

May Have Reaction if You Have Sensitive Skin
Mrs C has tested a number of Murad products and generally they have been extremely good, offering quality products which work. This is the second Murad product she has tested that she reacted to. The active ingredient is creating a burning sensation on the skin, after about 15 minutes of applying it. Given Mrs C has problematic skin to begin with and suffers from skin allergies, she stopped using it. Whilst this gel may work for some, you could get some serious reactions if used on sensitive skin.I cannot give a definitive review as use had to stop after first application. My suggestion, not recommended for people with sensitive skin.
