Good Fat is Good for Women: Menopause

This is the information I needed
The first time through the book I just skimmed it. Then I read it for content, and I'm glad I did.Now I have a good understanding of the historical progression of our modern "womens medicine industry".The writing is coherent and easy to understand. The conclusions are comprehensive and completely agree with our female experiences of the medical profession, and the information is tied together neatly in the final chapter. Some sidebars are hysterical. Like the extract from the NYTimes story about adolescent males burning out from "testosterone storm", and as a consequence engaging in dangerous behaviors like "not wearing seatbelts." LOLDoctor, I think you drew blood with that zinger! ❤️I'll be loaning this out, or at least recommending it to my friends.

Keto-animal based fat- hormone activation
Great explanation of the history of pharma related endocrine treatment in women. 1st book relating keto diet high fat-low carb-enough protein) to hormones balance in women of all ages. I found a practicable recommendation to avoid artificial hormone intake after menopause while giving incentive to our body to increase needed hormone production though adrenals glands.Must read for all women!

Explains Menopause and It's History (Not Much Detail About Diet)
I am a fan of Dr. Elizabeth Bright. Her protocol on high-fat diets to improve or heal hormones is spot on! But, the information that I have pieced together from watching podcast videos (where she has been the guest) is where I have obtained the baseline for the lifestyle that I am currently following. This book, while the history of menopause, and the chemistry of it, is very detailed, the diet/lifestyle section is lacking (in my opinion). I understand each body is different, and that we cannot all follow the same diet advice (as the doctor says, women are different heights and have different activity levels), but I would love to see the doctor giving us a range. She does annotate 20/80 (20% protein and 80% fats for healing). Thank you, doctor! We can also do the math and figure out our protein requirements, based on what she writes in the book. I had to skip most of this book to read the last 10 pages or so. Thank you, doctor, you are appreciated! I love your passion for sharing this information, and for helping people obtain health!

very informative
Dr Bright is so informative and has such a great way of explaining a woman’s body and hormones. She explains in a way no way else has. She makes sense out of a lot of confusion. Thank you!

What Women Need to Know
I’ve always believed that aging is a natural process of life, including the menopausal stage of life. However, and unfortunately, I was encouraged to go to a doctor to seek HRT. My body literally broke out and was trying to tell me this is not normal. I feel like the odd one out not being on HRT today but I feel normal again, eating an animal based diet. Thank you Dr. Bright!

Wasn’t what I was expecting
I’ve watched Dr. Bright on YouTube and have really enjoyed what she says about balancing women’s hormones. I was hoping to get more information about that along with more diet information to help out with a carnivore journey. I found most of the book to be mostly dull and repetitious. She could have shortened all the chapters into one succinct one on menopause history and that would have been enough. I think I’ve learned more practical information from hearing her on YouTube.

so much information in a great read
I loved this book. It was extremely readable but packed with information. Makes the prospect of menopause no longer scary!!! The nightmare people are told is imminent isn’t necessary!

Amazing information
Any woman would benefit from having this book. It's a decent length, straight to the point and with great advices. I find myself fortunate to have found this in my 30s. It gives me the chance to utilize this knowledge before menopause and forge myself a better path.

Menopause being medicalised by big pharma
If you want the history as too why we got nowhere we are with big pharma and menopause treatments this book present a good logical argument. It also presents a good cases for why modern high carbs are at the forefront of causing a lot of gynaecological problems and menopausal symptoms and why we shouldn't trust big pharma and their solution. The high fat diet and how to start it is covered. If you like science you should like this book.

Life saving and liberating!
I now understand better why so many "experts" keep forcing HRT on women. After reading this book I can finally enjoy my period-free life! I stand up tall and turn my back to all the negative talk about menopause. The hypothesis, that mother nature wants us women to get sick and die after our fertile years are over, is horrible and devastating for everyone who falls for it! There are other explanations for the symptoms attributed to menopause.

I wish I had this information 10 years ago!
Dr Elizabeth Bright really knows her stuff regarding hormones. Ladies read this and follow it. I promise you will not be sorry. We've been fed garbage information for all too long. Buy it for your friends and especially start to tell young ladies about it. The first half of the book explains how our hormone's got screwed up in the first place and the 2nd half explains how to get yourself out of the mess. DEFINITELY do not take HRT. Please educate yourself with this book.

An excellent book
A very good book. I particularly liked the explanation on how and why fat consumption enhances ones life. Beginning of the book has a bit too much information on why we got to this point (a lot of overweight or sick women, with hormonals problems). It will please those who like such scientific and historical details. It is well done. The second half of the book is quite informative, in a more daily manner.Book is not too long, which I prefer.A good read and investment.
