Work great for original 1900 picture rail
These are really sturdy and fit the picture rail in my 1900 queen Anne perfectly and I mean PERFECTLY. The only improvement I'd recommend is the hanging part. I'm hanging a few rugs with deco chain and the bottom mount is too thick for normal deco chain. It'd be nice if there were a version with a thinner lip. The existing lip is perfectly fine for hanging mirrors or picture frames as intended. I have no doubt I could rip the picture rail from the wall before these bent or broke. Very nice product.

If you have picture molding, these are great. If not, don't bother.
We have a house built in the 1920s with what is known as "Picture Molding" around various rooms at top of window height. This molding (when not saturated with paint from years of idiots letting paint drip into the trough behind the molding) is perfect for these hooks which let you hang picture wire down from the hook. Made for the days of plaster walls and not wanting to put holes in those plaster walls, these are not expensive and get the job done. Highly recommended (if you have picture molding that is...)

Perfect for older molding
I had previously purchased some other picture rail hooks, but they only fit the newer picture real trim that I had to install during my renovation. This picture rail hook is very sturdy, does not bend too much and was perfect for the remaining 1920s trim.

the best way to hang pictures!
We never heard of picture rail trim until we moved into an old house, and it is a wonderful though very old invention. No need for driving nails into the wall. And placement of pictures can be easily moved by sliding the location of the hooks along the trim. Although the images look like these hooks might be easily bendable, they are actually pretty sturdy.

Great for hanging things in your windows, too!
These work out well. I didn't want to put a bunch of holes in my wood work, so I ordered these, not to hang pictures, but to hang blown glass balls in my kitchen window. They fit over the window molding just as they would fit over the picture rail in a Victorian style home. I didn't give them 5 stars as they are a bit big and bulky and don't really lay flat, but they were the best I could find for my purpose. Super easy to put on and take off, you just hook them over the molding.

This one works for my house.
This fits the picture rails in my 1925 house perfectly. It has a fairly large radius where it slips over the rail. Only available in brass finish, so you'll have to paint it if you want it to be less visible. There's no hole to secure it to the rail with a screw or nail, but that's not an issue for me because it fits my rail so well. The price is nice, too. A word to the wise - if you find a hook that works for your house or apartment, stock up. I had previously bought hooks that worked well, but the company went out of business. This is the 4th different hook I've bought before finding one that fits my rail. Also tried Hillman 122246, Moore #20, and MintCraft 232-9613. They all either had smaller radius at the top or didn't follow the profile of the picture rail. YMMV.

Fit picture rail perfectly
They're the perfect size for a picture rail and give the antique look I was hoping for.

good
I used these products to hang my paintings and pictures. They are sturdy and what I expected them to be. Identical to the old ones I have. Gold plating is not that great but will be keeping them. I recommend.
