Very Accurate
I purchased this thermometer to keep in my A1C pen canister to make sure that my pens don't freeze or get too warm. This thermometer keeps accurate readings, has a protective shield that twists on and off and a clip if you want to attach it to something. I don't want to drop it to test its durability to sustain shock so I cannot attest to that, but overall, it is a great asset to have if you have to take daily injections.

Not eligible for returns
This product is labelled as "Eligible for Refund or Replacement", but I was not able to return it even though it was faulty. There were multiple bubbles in the line so it did not show an accurate temperature. They don't even let you request a replacement.

The thermometer is inexpensive and tiny. It is also a precision instrument with traceable to standards of the US National Institute of Standards. This is very important if you want to use it for scientific research or reports.The one I bought is an immersion thermometer, which means that it can only measure accurately the temperature of liquids in which it can be immersed. So it will not be accurate for applications where the depth of the liquid is significantly less than the length of the thermometer.Like most scientific instruments it requires to be manipulated with care (avoid shaking, store best vertically). I read some of the negative reviews and I think the people who do not like this thermometer would be more satisfied buying a cheap digital thermometer. They always come up with a value, do not require specific care, and it is fine if you do not care about the accuracy and repeatability of the measurement. I have been leading federally funded research in heat transfer, and taught heat transfer courses in public and private universities.

Wrong thermometer catalog number. Be aware if you need to read Celsius temp.
I bought this thermometer to be read in Celsius, not in Fahrenheit. The description picture shows in Celsius.
