the real deal
I thought this was fantastic - botanical flavors that a gin drinker would like, without tasting like gin at all. Most NAs are basically syrupy Koolaid, but this is delicious without any sugar or artificial sweeteners. The flavor is not overbearing so it's perfect with just ice, club soda (I think the flavor gets lost in tonic) and a quick squeeze of citrus.

False advertising!
It has natural flavors and potassium sorbate in it! So bummed because it's advertised as super clean! Unreturnable too - even unopened. They should show a picture of the ingredients on the bottle.

Great for me but not for you?
Based on the other reviews I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I like this flavor. You can’t expect it to taste like gin. It’s its own herbaceous tasting elixir that you shouldn’t drink straight. You mix it with lemon and orange juice and use over ice. Because of the Sage, it doesn’t get lost in the other ingredients. Don’t use it as a replacement in traditional cocktails, use it to make new mocktails based on its own flavor profiles.

Decent alcohol substitute
My daughter who no longer drinks found this to be a very good substitute in holiday cocktails. I did not like it. I thought it had a strong after bite like tequila. But it's made for a non drinker, so her opinion matters more!

Taste is okay but the scent is like perfume
I have mixed feelings about this product. I mixed it with some good tonic and it tasted pretty good, but the smell is like 4711 Cologne. I won't be drinking this.

Seriously the weirdest stuff ever. What WAS the NYT thinking recommending it??
well. I really wanted to like/tolerate it. And I rarely leave bad reviews. I was going to just let Pentire know but no contact info for them. Opened the bottle and it smelled like you should clean your shoes or lubricate something with it. Put some in a 1/2 drunk good real martini, thinking that might help - no. Undrinkable. Some review said "directly into the drain" Sadly they are right. OTOH - it comes in a lovely clear sturdy bottle that will be nice with some little sparkle, battery wine glass lights!!! Not bad for $40!!!!

Interesting flavor--great with tonic, not great on its own
It took me a few tries, but I have decided that I really like this stuff! It is an unusual flavor on its own, but with tonic it provides a wonderful herbal, minerally flavor that results in a great drink. Does not taste like gin, but does taste like a fascinating botanical mocktail that isn't sweet or chemical-tasting. You need to approach it as its own thing, not as a fake-gin.

It’s not my favorite
At the end of the day I like want to put me feet up, turn the lights down, and work on my crossword puzzle or read the latest issue of the Atlantic or some such periodical with the Oscar Peterson trio playing on the hi-fi. The thing is sometimes I don’t need the alcohol. I can toss Martinis back just as much as Nick Charles from the Thin Man films. However, I wanted to skip the hangover while enjoy my evening.I hoped the Pentire Adrift would serve as a suitable substitute for Plymouth gin, but alas it isn’t quite there. The taste isn’t bad per se, but it’s simply not up to snuff. Especially at the price they are demanding. For now I stick to NA beers or herbal tea on my dry days.
