I also need interior measurements. It's 2.5" on the outside, how tall on the inside?

Bottom tray interior dimensions are 7” x 4-1/8” x 1-1/8”. Lid interior dimensions are 7” x 4-1/8” x 3/4” so you have about a 1-3/4” clearance inside the box.

Is there a bad odor associated with the box?

I thought it had an odor - I lightly sprayed the inside with fabric freshener and left it open. I didn't like so much blue on the box so I rubbed some of it off and treated with lemon wax. It's now perfect for me.
