Superb for Tinkering and Light Emitting Circuits
I purchased these to tinker with various LED/light-emitting circuits, in hopes that my kids would take an interest in electronics. Such an amazing assortment of ICs to play with, and this kit is exactly what I needed to show how fun building circuits can be.PROS: The packaging shows exactly what you're getting, including the IC model, a quick description of what that IC does, and color-coded pinouts. The packaging is sturdy, and each group of ICs are secured in their own compartment, such that no pins were bent/harmed during shipping. In fact, the case is reusable should you ever empty it.CONS: None thus far. The only other thing you could ask for might be datasheets, but that would make the packaging much larger/bulky, and have an impact to the environment considering such datasheets are widely available online and need not be printed.Overall, I am quite pleased with this purchase, especially considering the low price. If you are tinkering around, this is a perfect kit. If you require large quantities of a specific IC, this may not be what you're looking for, since this kit seems to choose variety over quantity of a specific IC.

Good value
Every chip I’ve used so far has worked flawlessly. The chips seem to meet the timing expectations for CD4000 series logic chips at 5V. Various manufactures inside the kit. The plastic box is probably not ESD compliant but the parts seem to hold up.

Super broad variety of CMOS chips
This is an excellent and very broad assortment of 4000-series CMOS chips. There are only 2-3 of each chip but for me that is actually better since I got these for breadboarding and it was more important to me to have the widest possible variety of options. Also it comes with a large number of DIP-14 and DIP-16 sockets, which is a nice bonus.

Great packaging and perfect for hobbyists and students alike.
These are mostly logic gates which can do interesting things without the need of a controller and useful to automate basic tasks which you don't necessarily want a controller handling. In most cases logic chips have been obsoleted by micro controllers and is typically easier to write a couple lines of code, or use a standalone transistor to switch or invert a signal, than to wire a complex circuit to utilize these various chips. However, these can be useful on the odd occasion when your controller board is running low on I/O pins. The shift register, for instance, is great for expanding 3 controller pins into 8, 16 or more. This can be extraordinarily helpful if using a pin scarce board like the ESP-01.I mostly purchased these for tinkering, educational pursuits, and to build up stock of various components which may someday fit into a project.I probably paid a little more than neccessary for this kit but the packaging was a big selling point. I appreciate the case which is well built and clearly labled with pinouts for every chip which makes sorting and prototyping much easier.

Good box set to have on hand
The ICs are all in great condition, constructed recently, and most importantly functional. If you do a lot of repairs on Iots of equipment, or building out to learn engineering then you should have several of the chips on hand. Just remember CMOS chips aren't as error friendly as TTL chips, and to tie down your gates.

Nice assortment for breadboarding.
Bought for breadboarding. Nice assortment from 4000 and 4500 series. No bent pins and the added sockets is cool. The plastic organizer came with no latches (appeared cut off?), So immediately after getting it I got to gather up all of these chips from the floor and sort them out. Now I keep a rubber band around the case.

All Cmos devices seem to work so far.
All Cmos devices seem to work so far. Although I have only seen use to the simple logic gates thus far.
