Great book to read briefly about types of birds. Pictures help lot.

I have 2 or 3 birding reference books. This is the most detailed.Highly recommended.

Best bird book ever and I have a ton of them! I had "The Lives of American Birds" book but it was almost 25 years old and when I looked for a replacement I found this book and it is incredible! I love the clear range maps, numerous pictures, and how it clearly states the similar species and conservation issues for each bird! Every bird species you could ever imagine to see in North America!

This was purchased as a gift. I think the book is lovely and full of information for anyone who has an interest in birds, and bird watching.

Excellent used condition. Great reference for birders!

Good field guide with actual photos which makes this a much better guide than those of years ago. Some of the maps are a bit out dated and some show incorrect information (sandhill cranes in AL for one).

This book exceeded my expectations. I love that there are generally five photos for each type of bird and I love the conservation info (that was a major reason I selected this book). It is a great resource!! I highly recommend this book!
