Performs Exactly as Promised!
Light weight, easy to deploy and gather up, and very comfortable. I used it at a fantasy/scifi convention to wait in long lines and have a place to sit and eat when tables were unavailable. I also had to travel to/from the con via subway. It worked great! Other reviews mentions that it presses upon one's groin and that is true. I'm average height and build and fit and was ok with the comfort. But I can easily see how it would be uncomfortable for someone with a little more weight and unusable if significantly overweight. One way to address that issue is a small seat cushion. On the first day of the con I brought one along in my backpack and placed it on the seat of the chair. EXTREMELY comfy! My cusion was about the size of a dinner plate. If of larger girth, this would be a good solution. Later I realized that I didn't really need the cushion and was comfortable without. There is a version without the back that I had intended to purchase but it was unavailable. I'm so glad that I bought the version with the seat back!!! It made the experience more comfy waiting in line and I could hang my backpack on the seat back. If you're of average or smaller build and want an easy to carry, fast setup/take down chair, then this is a perfect choice. If larger, then just add a small round cusion for extra comfort. Also, the construction feels VERY sturdy. I had considered those round seats that accordian out. But they're all made from plastic and are prone to break. While at DragonCon another fellow and I swapped chairs for a moment as he had one of the accordian chairs and I wanted to try it. We both agreed that this chair was more comfy and more sturdy.

Most valuable purchase I didn’t see coming
Best purchase ever! I have had this for over 3 years - I use this a ridiculous amount (this is not just a camping tool in this household- sit by the dryer to pull out laundry, by the bed to read stories, fridge to clean, load, etc - it is an indoor, outdoor, home and traveling - I hope I have validated my use of ridiculous). When I purchased this I did not imagine what I would put this through but it is a trooper and remains in incredible condition. I will update when I need to buy another one (note: that may be never since I will be buying for others but I don’t count that…) I do want to note that I purchased this because of the weight it could hold (and I read reviews) - it can hold weight. I have used this both to hold my weight and other weight I place on it. It has been a very helpful tool. If I could give more than 5 stars I would - I can’t so this raving review will have to do (I don’t review that much - especially years later - hope that means something). If you’ve read this far and have the means, just buy it - I’m sure the quality has only improved hence I don’t think you’ll regret it. I haven’t.

Good quality but not terribly comfortable
6'-1" 190 pound male says, "It works fine." This stool (not really a chair) is a little low to the ground for me, but a fair tradeoff for its portability. The unit I got was exactly as pictured on Amazon. All of the materials appear to be of good quality and the stool supports me just fine- I didn't feel as though I had to ease onto or off of it. The legs do not perform particularly well on soft ground, but that shouldn't be a mystery to anyone evaluating the product images. Slightly broader feet, given the force/dynamics created when one sits, would have been sensible. The one star ding is due to the seat size. It is pretty small so I found myself struggling with how to sit. If I straddled one of the triangle seating "points", it had the not-so-pleasant, poorly adjusted bike seat feel to it. If I tried to wedge my butt between points along one of the "legs" of the seat's triangle, it just wasn't wide enough to be comfortable and the legs poked me in each cheek. I have a 32" waist, so I could be considered "slim." Also, as a guy, I tend to sit with the gate open (legs apart). Simply put- there was no room and no comfortable accommodation for male equipment for extended seating. This stool is perfect for a child (even a big kid) or for a relatively thin adult for short sits, but not suitable for a day of sedentary joy by more uhhh... size-challenged individuals- particularly men. It is, however, a great companion to throw in the "beach box" or "camping box" as an extra seat for the inevitable moron that forgets his/her chair and incessantly steals yours every time you get up. NOTE: I also have a similar style stool with the folding legs. Although it is much more portable and a bit lighter, it is not nearly a sturdy or stable.
