Xpel TW12T40 Clear Tracwrap 12" x40' Temporary Paint Protection Film

I used this to drive my new 2024 Corvette Z06 two hours from the dealer to get home in January. I ended up leaving it on for 38 days. The 6” x 40’ was just enough to cover the vulnerable areas - you may want a little more. 6” width is the right size to make it easy to handle. I did it in strips of 4’ or less, covering the nose, rocker panel and on the body behind the wheels. A few tips:1. Make sure it is very clean before you apply2. It’s best if you have two people to apply3. Gravel will accumulate where there are gaps, so be careful to take it off before this causes damage4. It does fine in the cold even when left on for several weeks without causing damage, but make sure you take it off in a warm environment. I waited for a 60°F day, drove it, put it in a garage and heated the garage to about 80°F.5. Use a space heater to warm the wrap in each section (about 30-60 seconds in each 3-foot strip) before pulling it off.As you can see, it didn’t leave any residue and didn’t damage the paint/clearcoat on paint which was about 4 weeks old (had to wait a few weeks to pick it up).

Took my new Mazda CX-5 Carbon Edition on a 1700 mile road-trip to the Midwest. I was worried about rock chips and a billion bug splatters on the nose so after a weeks worth of investigation I decided to try Tracwrap to protect the nose. There seemed no real consensus as to how long you could keep it on so my 8 day trip would be a good test. I bought the 6 inch wide roll and the day before we left I started applying it in close to 100 degree temps. I was really careful applying the first couple strips below the grill. It’s pretty sticky but with some trial and error I applied about an 18 inch strip and trimmed it with an xacto knife and small scissors. I spent much too much time trying for perfection at first. Remember it’s temporary!! I finally got the nose covered with 12 to 24 inch strips with some overlapping. Took me maybe 3-4 hours because I was wasting time being too picky. Next time I would add additional strips on the hood , I ran out of time! My CX5 is blue/grey so it was no all that noticeable.Off we went on the trip, temps were from 60s to 105. Mostly dry except for a good 3 hours of pouring rain on the return trip. Speeds were up to maybe 85. Nothing pulled loose, no bubbles other than when I installed it.This morning I removed all the strips, probably a dozen all total. No residues of adhesive anywhere and no rock chips! Excellent product!!I have plenty for my next road trip.
