322 GPS Glare Reducing Visor/Shade

Amazingly, this is actually a really useful product. I wasn't sure but I rolled the dice and gave it a shot. Provides glare protection from most angles except of course from directly on the screen. Oh, and a side benefit, makes taking the GPS unit off and on much easier on my built in GPS mount! The velcro provided, at least in my case, was top quality, heavy duty. I've not seen any attempt by the glue to separate from velcro backing. Make sure to order the correct version for your GPS.I'd buy again.

It does the job okay....... however when installed on a car that's parked outside in the sun in high temperature it falls off. I'm going to try high temperature cement.

This visor / shade looks like it is high quality in material and craftsmanship. Its great for shading my GPS from direct sun-light which makes it easier to see the map screen. It attaches by a double stick Velcro strip so it is easy to connect and remove from GPS or case. However, I will be using my sewing skills to eventually put some stitching into the Velcro strip that is attached to my water-resistant case, which will make my carrying case on my motorcycle more "water-proof" if I attach it farther back of the zipper blocking rain from the seam. This will also keep the Velcro strip from eventually getting pulled off the case as I continue to take it off when not in use. The only negative thing is that the ad doesn't make it more obvious [ shared responsibility of the consumer and the seller ] that the main ad is ONLY for 4.3 inch GPS devices. So, if you don't look closely and check carefully, it would be easy to purchase this for a 5 inch GPS and have to return it. So, caveat emptor consumers and make sure you check the ad carefully to make sure you are getting the right size. I had to pay for return shipping because the seller felt I was careless in reading the small print, which is true, but they should have made it more obvious as well. Good job Amazing-zon!!

This “visor” is really overpriced for what you get. It appears to be floppy cardboard wrapped in vinyl. Something akin to a very thin version the dividers one might find in a low-end camera bag. The method of attachment is a very thin Velcro strip that adheres to the top and side edges of the device. As other reviews have stated, the Velcro strip doesn’t seem to stick well and appears as though it wouldn’t stand up well to the wind you’d experience on a motorcycle. I’m fairly sure I could fashion something that would work as well (if not better) with some spare cardboard and Velcro tape. Additionally, as others have also said, either the Velcro or the “visor” itself would have to be cut, as it obscures the power button. As it is, there are less expensive products available on Amazon that look to be a better solution. For motorcycle GPS, I’d recommend trying a different product. Alternatively, I might consider making something from scratch. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.

There's not a lot to say about this that can't be inferred from the pictures. This is a handsomely made shade. It attaches with velcro that is easily cut to fit, and shades very well from the top and sides, but still won't do diddly for sun that is at your back. I leave mine in the storage cubby on the bike and only break it out when it's necessary.

I will start using this within the next 30 days from 12-10-2012 . I have not used one previous to this purchase but this should be great on sunny days of snowmobiling. I bought this by the size of my Nuvi cradle dimensions and it fit perfectly. It velcro's to the cradle very easily and you can cut the fabric according to the instructions and it will not fray wherever you need notches for the power button and the GPS removal tab on the cradle.

I like this item, it folds, it's compact and it fits in the GPS case. I store my GPS in my saddlebag until I need it and this sun shield works great.

Shipping was on time and the product meets the description of what the product is. As for functionality, 50/50. I am still on the fence with this product. I have the Glare Stomper installed on my Garmin 590LM in which I already have Anti-Glare screen protector installed. I have noticed "a small reduction in sun glare" that I am getting back from the GPS screen. Mostly depends on what direction and angle the sun is coming from. This item did not fix the problem. However, I will take what I can get at this point until I find another solution. If you have problems with your screen washing out from sun glare by all means this item is worth trying. Small price to pay if it works for you.
