My first Ukulele ever just arrived today. Last time I played an instrument was in elementary school (I'm 54 now) and it was the French Horn. Just want to say as a child it was very hard to play most notes accurately if at all. My music instructor back then was kind enough to not put me off on my choice of instrument. He instead modified my music sheets to accommodate the notes I could play and for that I still have a desire to learn to play. So with that in mind; I searched the internet for an easier to learn instrument, that's how I got to this point! Lance Allen makes the included online instructions from Ranch seem easy to understand and hopefully that makes it very easy to perform as well! I did not mark anything for ratings about the instrument being for beginners or easy to learn. Simply because I don't know yet! I have not even tuned the Ukulele yet. However; the quality and craftsmen ship seem very good for this price point. I will note that all the items listed in the kit were included along with two picks as well. Ranch did on the reverse side of the warranty sheet included a quick reference to additional Ukulele notes and chords. The strap that I received fits on the two posts on the body of the Ukulele and goes over the shoulder, more like a traditional guitar strap. I am planning to update this review later, once I have had time to tune and practice my new Ranch Soprano Ukulele. Update: Well I haven’t practiced as much as I hoped! However the Ukulele is very easy to play once I can remember to place my fat rounded fingers on the correct strings. I might suggest that if you have the same issue step up to the next larger sized Ukulele, it should help out a lot. Not to mention prevent a little less learning frustration.
