Are the magnets strong enough to keep my phone securely attached over bumpy roads?

Short answer: yes! I drive a pickup truck on 9” of lift with 37” tires, and if you know anything about lifted trucks, the ride isn’t always smooth. With that said, my phone is an iPhone 13 pro max and is in a lifeproof MagSafe case. Phone stick to magnet with zero issues, even over bumps in road, potholes, and speed bumps. Highly recommend this product!

Can I use it with a case on my phone?

You can, and it will charge. However, the magnets don't stick so hard with case and if road is bumpy, the phone will drop. I used to remove the phone from the case for more secure hold, but later I got a case that is compatible with the magsafe chargers. Does this thing really only charge at 7.5W?! How can anyone market that as "fast charging"?

bakamitai is correct. (The iPhone 12 mini charges at 12W with MagSafe.) Originally iPhones shipped with a 5W charger, which I used on my 12 mini until getting the Belkin iPhone/Watch charger. I use the ESR in my car and 7.5W is fine if you don't let your phone get too low. It can be charged a little faster if you use the cable. The Beklin Pro cradle has no charging capability so a separate charger and cable are needed. The ESR cradle would cost much more if it were a MagSafe charger and not just a MagSafe-compatible charger. This ESR cradle needs a car charger, too. For the fastest charging of the 12 lineup without a MagSafe charger, use a PD 3.0 12V car charger. It will only charge at 12W using the ESR's pad but will see full power when used with a cable. More fiddly but if you need the juice quicker, that's what you do.

Is the vent clip actually strong enough to support it on the air vent? I’m worried it might damage the vent itself or not be stable while driving.

There is also a newer support are that can be used with this magnet (see this Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B38P9TF8). I say use with your magnet because the magnet at the above link does not charge - you have to plug your phone in. The one at the link above would be ok if you're ok with plugging your phone in when using this holder.
