Exactly what I expected, PERFECT!
I'm very pleased with this Presto fryer. I have an old (very old) Presto Deep fryer that I've used on and off for oh so many years. I didn't know they could last that long. That is the reason I purchased this small Presto Deep Fryer for my motorhome. I'm counting on it outlasting me haha!I used it for dinner tonight. I had some leftover homemade egg rolls in the freezer and fried them for about 5 minutes. They were still partially frozen and turned out fantastic. It comfortably held 4 regular-sized egg rolls. My next project will be fried homemade spinach & artichoke ravioli. The size is perfect for a single person or a couple. It will be great for fried mushrooms and wontons. My other one is such a breeze to clean, I'm assuming this one will be too. I highly recommend Presto to anyone looking for a quality, reliable product. I was surprised and pleased to see that they still make the magnetic cord for the fryer. 10 stars.

Works Well
Was leery about ordering based on some of the negative reviews. But glad I did. This replaces my fry daddy in my RV. Needed something small, minimal splatter, and with lower wattage. This fit the bill perfectly. Uses canola oil half way between min and max. Temperature got up to 385 max. Adding frozen fries, temperature dropped to 300 then rose to 335. Difficult to get accurate temp reading as the probe touches the fries. One time did measure 350 about 3/4ths through the fry process. Even though the temps appear low with fries in, the fries came out perfect. Seems 8 min for frozen fries is about right for crispy fries. Sensitive to overfilling basket. Max is about 3/4 full. Anything more, fries do not crisp and risk an oil overflow. I added the fries with the basket in the fryer but well out of the oil, then quickly put the basket in the oil and shut the top to prevent splatter. Worked well. Have not tried fresh cut fries. Should take 3 to 4 min longer than frozen, at least my regular Delongi fryer does. Cord fits well and does not detach, but then I do not move it around with the cord attached and power on. Light always on when the power cord is connected to the outlet, so I give it 10 min to come up to frying temp. With dial turned all the way down, the heat is off but again, the light stays on when the power cord is connected to the outlet. Needless to say, I turn the dial all the way down, and then pull the plug (prevents sparking at the outlet with the fryer off). All in all, pleased with the fryer. Hopefully it will last a long time. As mentioned earlier, used in my RV so only in use while on the road. Have a Delongi rotofryer for my home. That has been going for 15 years.

Much better than the Fry Daddy. Able to adjust temperatures
I have a Presto Fry Daddy And it burns everything because the grease gets way too hot. No way to adjust the temperature. Although the temperature is not 100% accurate on this cooker it allows you to fry food without burning them. In fact, onion rings, french fries, and beer, battered shrimp came out perfect. It only holds 4 cups of oil, which makes it perfect for one to two people.

Worth it
Honestly it works pretty well, the instructions basically just tell you to use the same temp for everything and from my experience it’s the best temp for this device. Food cooks relatively fast with most items being around 3-5 minutes to cook. It’s pretty sturdy for its size. The design is very simple yet industrial so it may not want to be kept out in the open when not in use. I’d say it’s worth the money as it’s pretty good.

I could not be happier with this fryer!
I love fried chicken. Coated with flour, dipped in egg, then flower again. I love fried catfish dredged in cornmeal. But hauling out the pan, dealing with the oil and cleaning up the mess which included splatters all over the stove (and sometimes me) was just too much trouble. This means if I wanted fried chicken or fish, it required a trip in the car, a wait for the order, a drive back home by which time the whole dinner had cooled off.I tried an air fryer, but it set off the fire alarm bells in my apartment. There was no fire of course, but the tremendous heat set them off. Then I stumbled onto this guy, holy cow, zip, zap, fried chicken the way I want it right from my kitchen. The stove was clean, the unit easy to clean and thinking ahead I bought a container to strain and hold the peanut oil I prefer for frying. So cook whatever protein I'm having, fish or chicken, wait for the oil to cool a bit, pour it into the oil storage container, take off the mesh insert (which catches all the debris), wash the mesh in soapy water, dry it, put it back, put the lid on and into the fridge it goes for next time I get a hankering.. Then soapy water in the actual fryer, a swish swish and it's clean. Rinse, dry, reassemble with the basket and I'm done.Although there is no 'green light' to show when temp has been reached, I put a few drops of clean water in the oil when I turn on the fryer. When the water starts to sizzle & pop, I know it's hot enough and it's time for me to put in the food.I got this a few months ago and have used it usually twice a week since then. What a great buy and just think of all the money I would have saved if I had bought this a long time ago.Worth noting: This is not for a large family unless they eat in shifts, but it's perfect for singles or couples. The convenience and time saved while I'm still having my favorites - priceless.

Don't expect the world...
Don't expect too much from this machine - very small capacity, manual timings, could overflow very easily. It serves it purpose pretty good. It's not a total waste - fries really good

Does the job—delicious food results
I owned this exact appliance in the past. And when I saw it here at Amazon, I knew I had to have it again. It comfortably fries a portion that is easily enough for one person, and possibly enough for two. Cleaning it is not terrible, but it does go through the oil at a quick pace. Change the oil, keep it clean, and this appliance will last you years and years. Lastly, Its diameter is about the size of a smaller dinner plate (think 8” paper plate). Love my deep fried food!
