I have had great experience in the past with the larger sizes when I used them to store dog food. They keep food fresh, they're durable enough to last the entire life of your pet, and they'll keep just about anything out that isn't a very determined racoon.But a five pound capacity was more than I wanted to store food for my tiny bird that eats a tablespoon a day. I was glad to discover this smaller design available, and have used it to create and store a custom food mix for my bird, without having to worry about it going stale or drawing pests.If an even smaller unit becomes available, I'll snap that up too!

Very durable! Keeps pet food fresh. I like the indentation for gripping. I use this container for my dry cat food. I don’t buy a huge bag, because it goes stale, but most containers are too big. This container is the perfect size.

Great product! I keep our fish food outside for our Koi fish. In the sun all day, with no impact. Large storage capacity. Great design.

I used these years ago for my dog’s kibble and wanted to buy them now for my new puppy. I prefer these to the large bins. They fit easily in my kitchen and are easy to handle. I was so relieved they were still available.I removed one star because they have the most obnoxiously sticky label I have ever encountered. Two full sides of this thing covered in stickiness.I used multiple removal methods with a scraper (heat, vinegar, rubbing alcohol), plus the dishwasher, but the sticky residue remained.Ultimately, after my initial efforts, it took 2 rounds of generous dousing in Goo Gone and careful scraping, both times followed by the dishwasher. Finally I can use these canisters.I hope they never stop making this canister. And I hope they never put that sticky label on anything ever again.

I am giving these five stars even though they didn’t quite work for me. I think these would be perfect for dog food versus cat food. They are definitely airtight and will keep your pet’s food very fresh! There is a screw on cap and also a cup/scoop over the twist on cap. That’s a little cumbersome when feeding cats and they circling you ready to pounce when they are hungry! Plus, the cup is way too big for scooping cat food. Now, with all of that said, they are of a very nice quality and I highly recommend for dogs or larger pets.

We already had one of these for our older dog, but have a new addition to the family and she needed her own. These work great for camping trips and weekend trips.

I'm a big fan of the Vittles Vaults and have several of the larger sizes. Needed a smaller one and this was all they had. The reviews are correct about the label removal. RIDICULOUS. Took me over 3 hours of waiting for multiple Goo Gone applications to dry and along with using a blade, I finally get the entire thing off cleanly. Also, this holds a max of 4 pounds of kibble. Description says "4 to 6", but there's no way I couldn't fit one more piece of food over 4 pounds.Can't tell by the photo, but there is a separate screw lid under the measuring cup. (Great for me since I didn't want to use that measuring cup.) Note this one is not listed as "ant proof" like their larger models, but I still feel like it closes securely.I am knocking off a couple stars because of the label removal and the fact that it says it could potentially hold more than 4lbs. Otherwise it's a fine product when you need one this specific size.

This is a high quality, portable generous capacity bird food container, just the right size to fill the feeders outdoors - the snap-on measuring cup lid fits snugly, as does the screw-on top. Molded side grips of the container make 1-hand carrying comfortable. Gamma has larger sizes of similar containers.
