Finally One that really works!
I hand out compliments on stuff I like and on stuff that actually works because I know from experience how frustrating it is to make a purchase and discover that it was garbage. Well ladies and gentleman, let me say that if you are looking for a device to transfer your LP's and cassettes to digital MP3's, than... LOOK NO FURTHER!!! I have had the ones that are highly rated and turn out to be GARBAGE!!! Not to worry, this is a great product that actually works and actually cuts on the hissing sound and actually clears up the noise. A great buy. A must have for anyone interested in converting Lp's and cassettes.

OK.
Not many changes, and still presents problems in editing mode. Yet, to date, I have found NO OTHER software that does the job in such a straighforward manner as this one. I have tried them all, including very expensive editing software. The learning curve is simple with Roxio LP to MP3, as contrasted to the complex and often worthless learning curve of other software in this genre.

Easy to use, High Quality recordings
I was a record collector starting in my early teens when today's Classic Rock songs were being issued as new releases. Many of these old albums were hard to find 40 years ago. What a great way to listen to them without buying them a second time!I have a nice stereo and an expensive turntable that still work fine. The amp/pre-amp setup did not have a "line-out" connection available so I connected my computer and Roxio to the headphone jack on the amplifier. I went to a guitar store to buy a quality converter to connect the 3.5mm jack supplied in the package to the larger headphone jack used in my stereo. There are more capabilities to manage the raw recording before you create MP3 files than I had expected. Close to Sound Forge quality, but not as robust in fine tuning features.I have been kept busy "ripping" the albums and songs I have not found on iTunes or in CD format. Old cassette tapes come across just as easily. A great buy!

Stay Away From This Product!
First of all, the USB interface hijacked my system, and made itself the default sound device for everything - I was able to fix this for the most part by myself through the Windows Control Panel. However, it also disabled my Cubase program's ability to hear it's own Presonus Firewire interface, until I removed the USB device from the System/device section of Windows Control Panel. But that's not even the main problem, I never got past the main screen, and into the Vinyl/Tape converter, Sound Editor, or Tag editor. All I would get is the Windows message about "an unexpected problem". Roxio only offers support via web ticket, unless you want to pay $1.98 per minute, and it takes 24-48 to get a response each time. They had me give them screen shots of the error codes, my system screen, and the main view of the program, and text files of the error code reports. After all of that specific information, they offered such specific advice as, defragment your hard drive, and update your video drivers. The end advice they gave me was that if I still had problems I should return it! Which is why I am sending it back, and waiting to see if Amazon gives me full, partial, or no refund, because it's open software. I tried using the Roxio User Forum, right on the user site, but the best advice I got from the local "expert" was that Roxio products sometimes require a "clean install" which involves removing all of their other products, downloading and running a utility from Microsoft, and MANUALLY editing the Windows registry! yeah, right.I been using PCs since my first 8086, DOS 3.5 computer in 1989, and this is the first time I have absolutely failed to get a program to run! What part of all of that sounds "easy"?I don't know which product might be better, but buy anything else but this!

This is a good product that works as advertised
This is a good product that works as advertised. There has been several bad reviews but I think if you understand what the product is going to do it will be good experience. The product will take over (hijack) your sound card. It does this to make sound capturing as easy as possible and to allow you to capture gaming songs, but it means your speaker/headphones jack isn't going to work anymore. The hardware has a Line Out on the back but the signal is very "hot" for headphones, so you have to turn the volume way down. That's the worst of it. If you can get past that, the product is full of good tools to help you turn your LPs, cassettes, or in my case, reel to reels into MP3s. My suggestion is to get all the LPs you want transferred done at once, then uninstall the product.

poor customer service and poor instructions
had some issues with connecting the hardware, instructions were really vague and wasted 1 1/2 hours talking to a tech support and solved nothing - guy was clueless and was a total waste of time. Finally someone sent me a detailed link on how best to connect old technology to a computer. figured it out pretty much on my own, but would NOT recommend this product to anyone.

Plastic to CD.
The instructions were not very good but my stepson is a computor tech and figured out what we needed to do to make it work. Besides using a USB port you need to use the line out also. Have only copied about a half dozen songs as my wife finds to much for me to do in retirement. But the songs that I did do turned out great and it took all the scratches out. I have probably a thousand records, most of them in excellent condition but this Roxio program really fixes the ones that have popping or scratchy noises.

Better than I thought
After reading all of the reviews, I bought this product, knowing from the negative reviews it might be somewhat complicated. When I first tried the product, I saw how some users might complain. This is a very good product and comes with an entire suite of software. I stumbled until I learned all the hows and whys. In the end, there are very few limits to what can be accomplished using this product.
