I purchased this game; 3 of us have tried to read the directions and cant figure it out?? Can you give a brief description to help us play the game??

The instructions were challenging! 3 people gave up on them before we decided to take it step by step and play it out. I 2nd the YouTube suggestion, that’s how we learn to play most new games we get, but basically: Arrange 12 cards facedown (for every player) in 4 rows of 3. Each player starts by flipping 2 of their cards face up. All other cards are in a draw pile (Flip 1 up for a discard pile, too). The goal is to have the lowest total points at the end of the round, Each player takes a turn...they can either draw from the draw pile or discard pile. If they draw from the discard pile, they must replace it with one of the 12 cards in front of them...either facedown or faceup cards. If they draw from the draw pile, after seeing the card they must decide if they want to keep it or discard it, depending on how high or low the card is (for example, if you have a 12 showing in front of you, and you draw a 2, you definitely want to keep the 2 and would probably replace the 12 you have showing instead of risking an unknown face down card). If you do not keep the card, you discard it but then flip up one of your face down cards. You keep going around the table trying to have the lowest number of points (card value) at the end. Once a person flips over their last facedown card, then everyone else gets 1 more turn and the round is over. 1 fun quirk of the game, if you have the same card in a column of 3 (three 12s in the same column, for example) then you discard the entire column (all three 12s) and those points no longer count against you. We love this game but the instructions were hard to follow at first. Good luck!

Can you play this game with just 2 players or is it more difficult with 2?

Yes, you can play with 2 players and it is not more difficult. We do it all the time. My husband and I love this game and our 5 grandchildren love it as well. It is an easy game to teach them and it helps them learn strategic thinking. It's nice because we can help them if they need it since we can see their cards. Ages 4-8

do you shuffle cards in between each hand or wait until cards run out?

We tend to shuffle the used cards after each hand, but I think you could also just wait until the cards run out.

Can i replace a card with the same card i pulled from the deck? for example, if i pull a 7 can i replace a 7 i already have showing?

Yes. If you pull a card you have several options. 1. Throw it back in the discard pile ( you must then turn over one of your unturned cards) 2. Keep it and substitute it with a visible card (which must then be discarded) or 3. Keep it and substitute it with a card that is not showing ( which then must be discarded sight unseen to the discard pile). Have fun.

Great family game!

Game is easy to understand. Presents different challenges depending on how many players play which brings a nice variety to it. Teaches strategy in a nice manner. Enjoyed by all I have introduced it to!

Easy to understand. A good mix of strategy and luck. The quality of the cards is nice and they were easy to shuffle. My elderly parents LOVE this game. I really enjoy this as an option because it is fun but more importantly the turns are quick. You are NOT sitting there waiting 2-3 minutes while someone is looking thru their hand to play a card. I feel like young kids (as long as they can count and understand value) could enjoy this but they might need help with scoring.

El Magilano SKYJO es uno de esos juegos de cartas que parece sencillo, pero engancha muchísimo. Ideal tanto para jugar con niños como con adultos, porque las reglas son fáciles de aprender y la partida se anima rápido. Lo bueno es que las rondas son cortas, dinámicas y con un punto de estrategia para bajar la puntuación y ganar, así que no te aburres nunca. Ho comprato e provato Skyjo Magilano Card Game e devo dire che è diventato subito uno dei nostri giochi preferiti per serate in famiglia o pomeriggi passati insieme. Le regole sono semplici da imparare e veloci da spiegare, così ci siamo messi a giocare in pochi minuti senza lunghe letture di istruzioni — l’obiettivo è cercare di minimizzare il punteggio totale delle tue carte scoprendo, scambiando e pescando ogni turno. La dinamica di gioco è coinvolgente ma non troppo complessa, quindi anche chi non è appassionato di giochi da tavolo si diverte a partecipare. Ogni partita dura circa 30 minuti, perfetta per mantenere alta l’attenzione senza diventare troppo lunga. Le carte sono di buona qualità e il blocchetto per segnare i punti è comodo da usare più volte nelle stesse sessioni. Facile da imparare, divertente per tutta la famiglia, adatto a giocatori dagli 8 anni in su, si gioca da 2 a 8 persone. In sintesi, è un gioco di carte semplice, veloce e molto divertente da tirare fuori ogni volta che ci si vuole godere qualche round insieme! 🎲
