The finish is semi-gloss, which looks great on my bike. The construction is flawless along with the fit. I let the ring sit overnight to allow the adhesive to cure properly. No instructions are included. Clean the surface to be installed with a degreaser, (used camp fuel), peel off the adhesive covering, slide on and wiggle it a bit. Leave it sit overnight and it's definitely stuck.
