Thick tough stick of bent metal with holes
This are thick heavy awesome beasts! The good:They are heavy duty bent pieces of high gauge steel. Super strong looking and being one peice should make them resistant to breaking. They look exactly like the picture. The bad:They are not painted well. The ends are bare metal on mine. They also do not have countersink holes, just straight through holes.Summary: I am going to give four stars because while they are tough, they are so simple and are nothing special. One star knocked off for paint quality and making me put in my own countersink holes.

Attractive and functional
Wow - we are so please with these brackets! We were looking for a simple shelf for our kitchen to move our glassware out of our baby's reach, but everything we liked was SO expensive. Then we found these brackets and loved the distressed look. We then just got a 2"x 10" cut in half at Home Depot, stained both pieces, mounted them on these brackets and - voila! Gorgeous shelves for a fraction of the price. We've gotten so many compliments on the brackets themselves and how it all came together. And these are heavy-duty - definitely can support quite a bit of weight. We couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Gorgeous hand-made item and best proce!!!
Love these rustic looking shelf brackets! Saved a lot of money by buying cheap white shelves at hardware store and using these brackets - they're so nice they make any shelf look amazing and one of a kind (and YES same price as a cheap set would be at the hardware store.) They're also heavy weight and extremely durable. Love that they are handmade and the style looks perfect in our 300-year old house! I think they would look good with something modern too though, like I said, they'd make any shelf look amazing. Will definitely buy again if we need more.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THESE BRACKETS!!!!!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THESE BRACKETS!!!!! They arrived quickly and were packaged well, almost too well ;-) These brackets are heavy, sturdy and simple and have the perfect distressed look that I was going for!!! I can't believe how cheap shipping was with how heavy these things are! I ordered 2 packs of 4 of the 6"X6" and used 4 of them to hang 2 3 foot shelving. The boards I used were 10" deep X 3' long X 2" think and the brackets are working out wonderfully. I will definitely be ordering more of these!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!!

Love these brackets!
We used these to hang shelves on the back porch, we just stained 2 x 10 wood and attached them to the wall with these brackets and they look fantastic. Everyone loves how they look. I will be buying more for the other side of the porch. They are heavy, well made brackets. Actually, they were much heavier than I had anticipated, which was a nice surprise. They look very expensive and give a great look to the porch area! Wish I had a pic to post!

Work great!
We ordered these brackets to update our kitchen to a more open design. They look awesome and work really well. I would recommend using a board that is 12" deep or less though (I got a 3/4" by 12" by 6' board from Lowe's). I mounted them to drywall using drywall anchors that can hold up to 130 pounds each. They definitely aren't going anywhere anytime soon!
