The heavy metal contamination test results in the link provided by Mark T. above shows that Austrialian company TAUU produces the cleanest spirulina by far. I found the description in the TAUU website with further independent test results that show how clean their product is. are the tablets compressed spirulina powder?

I gave the spirulina powder (in 1980) to my 7 year old son in applesauce, it went down well.

i've tried spirulina powder and found it too gross to tolerate, (even in a smoothie), do the pills have the same flavor?

I just swallow them and dont taste them. I take half the recommended dose (one pill rather than 2) because I am small (103 lbs). This works for me. I dont like the powder either but folks who drink smoothies seem to think it is good. I prefer taking the Spirulina with my morning drink along with my vitamins. It sits better in the stomach when consumed in conjunction with food.

whats the difference between this and Chlorella?

Do your research on anything you put into your body. If you did, you would know both spirulina and Chlorella are algae and both healthful with Spirulina is superior to Chlorella with more essential amino acids, iron, protein, B vitamins, and vitamins C, D and E.
