I have been suffering with peri oral dermatitis for TWELVE years!! I guess symptoms may vary a little from person to person but mine were sore, burning, itching, angry red bumps all around my mouth and chin and lower nose. As you can imagine, I have tried every single thing you can think of and many you couldn’t think of. I went to a dermatologist at the beginning of 2014 after about 6 months of trying different things on my own. I was given a couple of topical prescriptions which didn’t work. Then he recommended Accutane which is a somewhat scary oral medication. I was reluctant to take it but I finally agreed. I took it for a year with no improvement in symptoms. So I stopped that drug and he gave me some samples of another topical. No improvement. Then he kinda threw up his hands and said, more or less, I don’t know what else to do. From then until now I’ve sporadically tried different things or just lived with it. Using makeup when I’m out and about. On May 11, 2025 I, honestly, don’t remember what made me search Amazon, yet AGAIN, for something I hadn’t tried before. Well, I saw Terrasil and read the reviews and thought okay I guess maybe I’ll try one more stupid thing that won’t work. Sigh. And then it was quite expensive so I hesitated. Anyway, I ordered and received the next afternoon. Well, the directions were to use once or twice per day. I put on a small amount all around my mouth and it seemed very benign and gentle. No burning no nothing. So I used a couple of times during afternoon/evening.(I tend to be a if some is good more is better type). The next morning when I woke up the whole peri oral area was one big SCAB and scale like I’d been burned. It wasn’t red and didn’t feel bad. Just scab, scab, scab. Well, didn’t know what to think about that really. I won’t go into boring detail about day to day improvements but, as of June 19, 2025, this miserable skin condition that I’ve suffered with all these years is 98/99% healed! The scabs and scale just sloughed off and reformed, sloughed off and reformed less and less each day. There were a few new bumps and I used a TEENY, TINY amount of Terrasil on those once a day. I’m SO, SO, SO AMAZED and HAPPY!!!! Thank you, Terrasil! I guess I should buy a lifetime supply. UPDATE: It’s now August 7, 2025. I’m still AMAZED! My peri oral dermatitis is gone but I still need to use Terrasil once per day because I can tell by a subtle burning sensation that a red bump is about to erupt. Maybe I’ll have to use indefinitely but that’s ok. Almost 3 months later I’m still on the my first .5 oz tube. But, of course, my problem is a small area and I use a tiny amount. I have another tube waiting though. ALSO, I had an actinic keratosis on my forehead. Very small, pink scaly spot from sun damage. I’ve had it for 20-25 years. I’ve used this or that cream now and then but none worked. I didn’t really care bc it’s really small and unnoticeable. However, I thought I’d just try this Terrasil that I was using for the other problem. It took 2 months of once a day use but the AK is now GONE. Yup. At least 20 years but now gone. So there ya go. Just sayin.

I've been using on my cellulitis blister sores. It has been doing a pretty good job getting the healing going. A little pricey, small tube. It states that it's good for a lot of other problems too.

I read a review from someone who suffers from perioral dermatitis so I was hopeful. The first night I used it I woke up the next morning and my breakout had gone down dramatically so I was pleased. Later in the afternoon my skin was started to peel and flake, very dry, but it's been cold so I chalked it up to the weather and needing more moisture. Put more on that evening and the next morning my skin felt tight. I put more on first thing and within 20 minutes the area where I applied it to- around my nose, chin and mouth, turned bright red like I was having a reaction. I used a very gentle Cetaphil rinse, iced it for a few minutes wrapped in a towel, and then Cerave extra light moisturizer. The redness started going down but my skin feels very chapped. Be careful if you have sensitive skin, and using it on areas like the face that tend to be sensitive anyway. Update: after two weeks from my skin basically healing from a chemical peel from the Terrasil my "perioral dermatitis" or whatever it was is gone, keeping in mind a daily routine of washing my face with warm water in the shower in the morning following moisturizer and using Cetaphil Extra Gentle Daily Scrub after work to take my makeup off followed by more moisturizer from CeraVe Moisturizing Cream for normal to dry skin,Rich Texture. I still change pillow case every three days but idk what it was about the Terrasil that upset my skin so badly then healed it and cured my problem. Pleasant conundrum.

I tried Terrasil for angular cheilitis because I had already tried different products like Vaseline and Aquaphor, but they didn’t help with healing. It did help with itching and irritation initially, but my lips were still cracking, itching from time to time, and had a burning and stinging sensation. I saw this product and bought it thinking it would help, as it claims to provide relief for angular cheilitis, and based on my symptoms, I might have angular cheilitis since it’s been going on for 2 weeks. However, Terrasil caused intense itching and stinging within 15 minutes of application, so I had to wash it off with lukewarm water. The irritation persisted even after cleaning. After removing it, I applied Aquaphor, which soothed my lips immediately. Unfortunately, Terrasil did not work for my sensitive skin and actually worsened the discomfort. I would not recommend it for cracked or sensitive lips, especially in the corners of the mouth. If you know that you have a very sensitive skin think of it first and do your research before buying. Based on my research before buying this product it says the ingredients they used are good they used different types of oils but some of the oils might not be tolerated by people with sensitive skin.
