Does this charge both alkaline and lithium ion?

Does not charge alkaline except once.

Would you be able to use different batteries or just powxs batteries? also does this charger tell you when the 9v is charged?

It will charge any rechargeable battery, AA, AAA, Nine vault. It does tell you when the nine vault or any battery is charged

How does this do with aa lithium batteries? can you charge 12 aa lithium batteries at the same time?

as long as the battery says rechargeable and is either a AA, AAA or 9v. This will work.
