I recently purchased the Seiko SNE549 Prospex Men's Watch, and I couldn't be more impressed. Right out of the box, I could tell this was a solid, well-crafted timepiece. This is my first Seiko, but I can confidently say it won't be my last. The craftsmanship is top-notch, and I can easily see this watch lasting for many years. I'm one happy dude to own this watch. It has all the virtues of high quality, smart design, advanced tech & accurate time-keeping. Solar power is a hoot - no need to plug it into a powerpoint to charge it & no winding or shaking needed to get it started. Regular exposure to sunlight or flourescent light is enough to keep it going. Cumulative exposure to 10,000 lux sunlight on a cloudy day for 35 hours is said to be enough to fully charge the watch. When fully charged, the watch has enough power reserve for 10 months. There is no risk of over-charging as its circuitry is designed to prevent that. The secondary battery used is not the regular silver oxide type & needs less frequent replacement. It fits well & feels comfortable on my wrist, & it looks fabulous too. At the back of my mind, I know I'm wearing something special.
