Simplifying the job.
Wish I’d got this sooner. Made changing oil on my Toyota so much simpler.

This oil filter wrench worked perfectly on my 2006 Lexus. It’s very well built, feels solid in the hand, and fits exactly as it should with no slipping. Made removing the oil filter super easy and saved me a ton of time and frustration. If you do your own oil changes and want a reliable, no-nonsense tool, this is a must-have. Highly recommend!

I own the original and updated version of this tool. The original still works well, however, the area of the tool, that has the "teeth" which lock on to the tabs of the cartridge-style housing (e.g, Camry, Sienna), is thicker than the rest of the tool body. The thicker area doesn't allow the tool to fasten securely around the cannister filter of my RAV4 Hybrid, which is mounted horizontally instead of vertically. There is just limited clearance against the oil pan for it to fit properly. The thinner walls of the updated version fit much better. Overall, both versions are well made and function as designed. The updated version is well machined and anodized beautifully. Neither the tools or the cartridge housing tabs will break as long as they are used to install/remove filters or housings that are PROPERLY torqued. If the tools either strip out the filter or break housing tabs, someone did, or is doing, something wrong. Although Toyota doesn't specify torque values for their cannister filters (normally 3/4 turn after gasket contact), I have found that 18 lb⋅ft. is a solid all-around value for both the cartridge and cannister filters.
