Millie Marotta's Wildlife Wonders: Favorite Illustrations from Coloring Adventures

If you like highly detailed, elegant but whimsical drawings to color, this is the book for you. It's also a great intro to Millie Marotta's unique style. I've been a fan of hers almost from the beginning (I've been coloring as an adult since the early 1990's), and her style just appeals to me. I love the intricate detail, but everything makes sense. The images are frame-worthy, too -- really lovely. My only quibbles: 1) The images are printed on the fronts and backs of the pages, so you have the potential of losing a frameable image if a couple of your favorites are back-to-back. 2) Also, you'll probably want to use water-based markers, gel pens, or colored pencils for these as alcohol markers tend to bleed through and since the images are back-to-back, you risk losing a picture. All that aside, though, this is a beautiful collection and well worth the price. Highly recommended -- five stars.
