Das "Lord of Waterdeep"-Erweiterungsset ist in meinen Augen ein Pflichtkauf für Besitzer und Liebhaber des Grundspiels. Die zwei(!) enthaltenen Erweiterungen bringen mehr Lords, Quests, Intrigen und Gebäude. Zudem wird eine 6 Spieler-Runde und eine "lange Runde" (jeder Spieler erhält einen Agenten mehr) möglich. Jede Erweiterung verändert zudem das Spielprinzip leicht. Im "Undermountain" werden die Quests anspruchsvoller, spielen aber auch mehr ein. Dadurch werden die Spieler gezwungen sich deutlich mehr am Gegner zu orientieren und die eigene Spielweise spontan anzupassen. Zudem werden oft Ressourcen auf Action-Feldern abgelegt, so dass versucht werden kann Handlungen der anderen Spieler zu provozieren in dem die Gegner geködert werden. In "Skullport" wird eine neue "Währung" eingeführt. Durch Anleihen von Totenkopf-Markern können stärkere Actionfelder genutzt werden. Jedoch steigt der Wert der Totenköpfe, der am Ende von den Siegpunkten abgezogen wird, desto stärker die Nachfrage nach ihnen ist. Eine vorausschauende Taktik ist im Skullport überlebenswichtig...

A family favourite, the expansion(s) gave us much replayability. Quality is good, on par with the original game.

Quite happy with this extension, which adds new dimensions to the original game, as well as the ability to play with 6 people, for when you have a larger group around. The mechanics that it adds to the game are intriguing and compelling. While the game itself is not changed dramatically, the additional options are adding more options. I would definitely recommend for fans of Lords of Waterdeep who have played the game for a while and are seeing it getting a bit repetitive: this extension will (no pun intended) extend the life of the game by giving new options. Besides the additional boards and mechanics, it also provides additional quest and intrigue cards, as well as new buildings. As well as longer mode using an additional agent. Plenty to like and nothing to dislike. The price is a bit steep (almost as much as the original game) but the build quality is really nice and I can understand where the cost comes from.

Giving this a 1 start review for attention, in hopes that the seller will see and send me the missing deck so that I don’t have to return the whole item and repurchase.
