Its a good product. I used it to clamp corners for a pine box 2'x4' with 3/4" thickness. However - and this is important - these clamps are not designed for that kind of weight. They are designed for picture frames or any box that is lightweight.

Are these capable of clamping two different thickness pieces together in the same corner? Like a 3/4" thick drawer front and 1/2" drawer sides?

I wouldn't try it. The right angles are fixed so it can't adjust to different thicknesses. They are only good for picture frames.
